not a great idea to trade scheifele and helly, and we shouldn't be paying to get rid of wheeler because he's still really useful as a top 6 winger with amazing leadership.

I don’t know if they’ll move Kakko for this.

If NTCs mean nothing, and others teams don't have to adhere to the salary cap.....it all makes sense.

I might be in the minority here but I would do something like this from the Oilers side to get a true starter with 2.5 years to go at a decent cap hit. The only name I wouldn't be ok with is Bouchard but would throw in another 1st or Borgault in his place.

Where to start with this one.

Wheeler isn't waiving for Buffalo.

The firsts are nice, but the Jets aren't trading Scheifele and Copp for such a poor return player wise.

Nothing in the Edmonton offer makes the Jets consider the deal at all.

Value wise maybe. Needs wise it does nothing for the Jets as the only player that fills a need for the Jets is Bouchard. The remainder are unneeded players trying to make up video game value.

Do you know how hard it is to find an elite goalie?

Goalie that’s probably close to the decline? I’d look somewhere else if that’s the price that’s laughable

A 28 year old, elite goalie that is probably close to decline.grin. It is best that you look elsewhere though, because the Jets aren't moving Helly and certainly not for that offer.

I'm not really expecting anything as the Jets won't trade him. I'm saying if they did, it would be for a quality player(s) they need. Not a collection of lesser parts that fill no needs for the team.

Well let's look at the offer:

1st - Very nice.
2nd 2 years from now- okay, compensation for getting stuck with Koskinen.
3rd 3 years from now - close to zero value.

Koskinen - garbage. Negative value.
Bouchard - good, young RD. Valuable piece.
Yamamoto - tiny bottom 6 forward that can't score stapled to McDavid and Draisaitl. Unneeded, close to zero value.
Broberg - good young LD, but unneeded as he would need to compete with Morrissey, Dillon, Stanley, Heinola, Samberg, Chisholm and Kovacevic for ice time. Fills no need for the Jets, so minimal value to the Jets.

So, if you take off the orange glasses and look at it objectively, it's easy to see it doesn't help the Jets enough to compensate for losing Helly.

... you will need to add more to get someone to take on wheelers horrendous contract. When it comes to leadership I have heard from multiple sources he is the biggest jerk in the entire league and I am almost positive he was the reason big buff literally quit hockey

Wheeler's contract isn't that bad he can still put up 60+ points and idk which sources you hearing from but they clearly ain't right

yall are underestimating helly's trade value. He will still be an elite starting goalie for 7-8 more years. and right now he is on a very good contract

Literally one that played in the bottom six and another that played on the third pair, said him a mark didnt acknowledge the existed, he is going to fall off of a cliff once the jets get a new coach that doesnt insist in playing him 20 mins a night

NYR is most likely not going to move Kaapo. Once he is moved down with Panarin - Strome (LIKE HE WAS AT THE START OF THE YEAR AND HIS 8 GAME POINT SCORING STREAK) he can shine

Agreed. That's a massive amount of value going out for 2+ years of Hellebuyck. Not taking anything away from him, he's great, but I just don't think Edmonton is in a position to give up so much future value for short-term gain.

Bouchard and a 1st is very close the rest is just gravy not even half a year with koski isn’t really that bad of a contract but ok… cheers!

No one is giving up that much for a goalie no bias or anything to do with it lol I’m a big fan of both teams all jet fans think draisaitl is the return it’s unbelievable

Agreed. If it was a video game, the value would be close. But in real life "value" doesn't mean a lot to a team, it's team needs that drive the trade world in the NHL. So, in this case the Jets aren't trading an elite goalie for a bunch of stuff that might fill one hole on defense and add low end depth, by creating a more massive hole in net now and for the foreseeable future. Have a good one.
