I think that’s a reasonable return for Miller. Canucks fans on this site overvalue Miller on CF. Rangers fans undervalue Miller on CF. As a Canucks fan I’d love one of the rangers second round picks in lifer in return for retention on Miller as ownership typically hasn’t retained salary in the past. But overall good thoughts and definitely the framework of a deal that could work for both teams

Every Canuck fan on this site is Schneider or bust. Any deal that doesn't involve that one player (which you're not going to get) is considered inferior.

I assure you,if you can get your mind past the fact that you have no chance at Schneider, you will come to realize this is a solid proposal.

Lundkvist is one of the Top D Prospects around, who's been buried in an organization with a multitude of Top D Prospects.

And if not for his disgruntled attitude with Drury, Kravtsov isn't a Prospect we really want to give up.

Yeah, I thought twice about it. But Chytil just isn't showing the improvement we expect. Probably not even a true C in the future. Value in the deal I think is relatively close.

I can understand why the Rangers are so adamant about keeping Schneider, but you also have to understand that this deal doesn't have the same impact. The Canucks aren't under any obligation to trade Miller and may just keep him if no team meets their price.

Lundkvist is good but we already have Hughes as an undersized puck mover and Rathbone who is of the same mold in the system. He is not an ideal fit like Schneider is. Kravtsov's value is diminished at least a bit by his situation. Even then, wingers are the last thing the Canucks need.

If one of Schneider, Lafreniere or Kakko was offered straight up for Miller with retention, that would be easy to accept. This deal, while solid value wise, doesn't have the same effect

I hear you but if you can just get past the idea that Schneider is untouchable...haha. The Canucks have a similar issue where we have a completely non physical defense. We already have offensive puck movers and an undersized one as our no.1. Lundqvist has decent value but it's just not a great organizational fit. Not that it couldn't happen if no better offers come.

Realistic question though, how much is Kravtsov really worth? He's a decent talent with enough of an attitude issue that he just went home to Russia. In a vacuum, straight trade, is anyone giving a 2nd for him? It'd be in the 2nd or 3rd range or for an equally disgruntled prospect, so despite having upside I don't know that his value is that high. Let me know if you disagree. I did hear a report the Canucks like him.

If this trade were to take place in the 2022 off-season, then maybe it's reasonable, but if the Rangers want to get Miller at this trade deadline, then that package is absolutely not enough

I agree Schneider is the better fit, but that's not to say Lundkvist wouldn't be useful, the Canucks could still use a mobile puck moving D-man like him even if he isn't very big

I probably wouldn't give up more than a 2nd/3rd for Kravtsov, I guess Drury is still waiting to see if he can get more since he is in no rush to trade him

I think his value is down more due to the fact that he seems to be battling with the organization.

His skill still has a high ceiling, but the growing feeling that he is working his way out of NY makes other teams feel they can scoop him up for half price.

I agree this is a reasonable trade for JT if we just add a 2nd or a 3rd

I would tend to agree and given he wont be playing for NY they have an incentive to move him.

Copp is a pending UFA who the Jets can't afford to re-sign, so that is a real possibility.
