Ruzicka won't get near that, players notoriously get prove in deals in Calgary, Kylington will be less as well, he's been good but his turnover scaries have come back a bit and playing with Tanev is hiding a lot of flaws on the eye test. Cap also is scheduled to go up a million dollars. No discounting the work that Treliving has but moving a Monahan/Lucic/Backlund fixes it pretty quick. Even Dube would be a good candidate.

Trade Monahan and Lucic. If they go far this year I could see some of the players come back a tad bit cheaper. Maybe 7x9m for both Johnny and Matthew? Mag prob gets 4-5y in the end. Kylington prob gets a tad bit less due to his short stint as an NHL defenceman. Maybe 3x3m. Would push him to UFA status when he reaches his prime.

Monahan out is the obvious move

There's noway you can give both Gaudreau and Tkachuk that kind of money without moving out bodies, Monahan would definitely have to be out the door. As you've shown here you're still 5 players short and nearly $4,000,000 over the cap. Bodies will definitely have to be moved out.

Lots of teams willing to take a shot on Monahan I'd imagine. He is still young and may just need a change of scenery.
Move him for some decent picks and prospects.
