I'm huge on them spending a late round pick on Sam Gagner, great PK guy, great possession guy, having a decent season and it would make the Oilers fans want to puke.. I have time for all those things

Marc Staal has said numerous times that he's not waiving his NMC and uprooting his family. there's already mention that Yzerman is going to resign him to a 1-2 year deal. but we'll definitely take then 2nd for Namestnikov.

3rd for Namestnikov. 2nd with 50% retention. Staal has a NMC and doesn't want to be traded.

Sharks would do that, if not like a 2nd and another mid rounds pick. He’s played well in the top 6 and on pace for over 40 points at just $1 mil aav

I'd be surprised if Enzo got a 3rd at the deadline. Having a great season, but I just don't forsee him being that valuable. As for Paul, I'd be looking for a 2nd at least, but I doubt he ends up moving. He wants to stay and they want to keep him, I'd be pretty surprised if he ends up traded, unless he's expecting some massive payday like what Barclay Goodrow got

Very surprised if Giordano and Risto go for less than a first. D-market has been pretty bonkers.

If Ottawa moves Paul they should be smarter than taking a 2nd. I'd be looking at prospects that are closer to NHL ready but aren't part of the trade partner's playoff push.
I'd even add to our side. Something like Nick Paul and the TBL 2nd for Jakob Pelletier.

I’d be willing to do a 2nd-4th round pick for any of Jarnkrok, Parise, or Namestnikov tbh. Not sold on Paul or Ennis for Calgary, I think they both fit well in Ottawa and I’m not sure if they get moved. Barabanov is probably too expensive and I’m not a huge Hinostroza fan, but he’d probably be okay for a 3rd or 4th. I’m not sold we need another D, unless we’re spending to upgrade Kylington to Chychrun or something (which I probably wouldn’t do), I think we’re fine with Zadorov/Gudbranson as the 3rd pair and Valimaki/Stone/Mackey as the spares.

Hino and a 4th for one of your 2022 2nds would be fair imo. I guess we will see how he looks when he is finally back from injury

I think that if the Flames make an additional trade, it will be for a LH depth defenseman, WITHOUT, removing from the current roster. Meaning it will be someone making under 870,750, as that is all Calgary can afford to add. So the pool is tiny, but it would include guys like...

              Blackhawks: Erik Gustafsson
              Blue Jackets: Gavin Bayreuther
              Flyers: Nick Seeler, Kevin Connauton
              Canucks: Brad Hunt

I agree with this… technically they could acquire someone w a higher cap hit if they want too cause player cap hits go down as the season goes on too…

And could try to get a double salary retain but I wouldn’t bet on it
