Blackhawks Deadline

Created by: tdawg1928
Team: 2021-22 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 24, 2022
Published: Feb. 24, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
CHI
  1. Koskinen, Mikko
  2. 2022 1st round pick (EDM)
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Oilers are desperate for a goalie. It's an overpay but they need to do it. Buys them some extra cap space to go acquire a defenseman as well.
EDM
  1. Fleury, Marc-André ($3,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
If they wait, and make Holland get as desperate as possible, they can get an overpayment, and let's hope that's exactly what they do.
2.
CHI
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (TOR)
  2. 2023 4th round pick (TOR)
TOR
  1. De Haan, Calvin
  2. 2022 6th round pick (CBJ)
Additional Details:
While De Haan is probably the best defenseman available on the market, his low point total is going to deflate his value. While he is absolutely worth a first round pick, I doubt they get more than a 2nd.
3.
CHI
  1. 2022 5th round pick (NYR)
4.
CHI
  1. DeBrusk, Jake
Additional Details:
Change of scenery hopefully benefits both.
5.
CHI
  1. Kravtsov, Vitali
  2. 2022 1st round pick (NYR)
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (STL)
  4. 2023 2nd round pick (NYR)
NYR
  1. Kane, Patrick ($5,250,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Hawks can get someone to overpay big time for a "superstar" on half salary. If Kane agrees to go to a contender, which I think he would, this could be what allows them to compete again in a couple years.
6.
CHI
  1. Girard, Samuel
Additional Details:
Avs have shopped Girard in the past and will likely be trying to clear space for a big acquisition.
COL
  1. Beaudin, Nicolas
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (TBL)
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (TOR)

We aren't shipping out Girard for futures. If anything we'd be looking for a middle-6 forward. Beauvillier and Buchnevich come to mind. Avs decline.

Avs have never actively shopped Girard, those are rumors and they sure as hell aren't trading him for that meager package. Oh, and DeHaan is most definitely not the best D available at the deadline. He's a 3rd pair guy and does some good work defensively but he is absolutely not worth a 1st.

Even if it gets him off the books and opens up some cap space to sign FA's?

avs have not shopped Girard in the past,
and hes not available now either, and no the are not clearing out cap space. The trade offer is grossly undervaluing him as well

No desire in acquiring Kane. He’s doesn’t address the long term center issue which is more important than burning picks on a winger. If I want anyone from Chicago it’s Dach or Debrincat, but that’s not gonna happen for obvious reasons.

Just posting this here bc people seem to only like to believe the junk rumours and ignore what the real insiders say

overvaluing your player a bit? you might be disapointed on deadline day. maybe de haan gets a second but he is definitly not the best d on the market... if a player doesnt get a first round pick its usually bexause they are not worth a first, i dont understand your logic.

edit : you would get.more than that for kane thought

"While De Haan is probably the best defenseman available on the market"?!?!?

Hampus Lindholm, Nick Leddy and Colin Miller are all younger, better defensively and get more TOI than De Haan, in addition to being more productive offensively.

Every team in the league would give up more than this for Kane. Saying you're a hawks fan isn't saying much. There's plenty of hawks fans out there that don't know player values.

Girard has never been shopped. And even if he was you think a 22yr old AHL player and 2 2nds gets him. Think what the Hawks paid for Jones and you are in the right price range rather than a bunch of junk. Ridiculous offer.
