JT Miller makes too much sense

Created by: NickC1988
Team: 2021-22 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 26, 2022
Published: Feb. 26, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Laf looked good on the RW last game, i'm hoping they keep him there that line was really effective and he's really not meant to be a checking forward as 3LW.

Strome walks with Miller coming in, Georgiev moved in offseason for a cheaper back up. Suddenly this team's cap situation isn't as bad. The only question is, is that enough for Miller?

I agree with you on this. VAN needs a lot of help. Their farm system is FAR from stacked. One of the worst in the NHL in fact. It might seem like quantity vs quality, but its two years of JT Miller and VAN isn't competing in the next two years. Get whatever picks/prospects you can...NYR have a lot to give and still have a deep farm system...and give those NYR prospect proper ice time to develop.

Hard pass from Vancouver. If you're serious, it's Schneider. And we're not retaining money on Miller. Why would we retain on a first line center who makes 5.2 million, when we are under zero pressure to trade him? It's idiotic.

To get more assets. That's what happens at the TDL. I hear ya on Schneider though.

See it kind of looks like Quantity, but at the same time Kravtsov is so skilled, and at this point all he may need is to play with Podkolzin. Lundkvist could turn out to be the perfect D partner for Hughes, and they get a couple young NHL pieces in Hajek and Gauthier. I actually think this trade is pretty even, maybe even favoring Vancouver a tad.

Vancouver would be stupid to not retain on him, that's how you maximize your return. I don't think Schneider is on the table or ever will be, but who knows.

Agreed. Kravtsov, Lundkvist and Gauthier have pretty high ceilings.

Take out gauthiier, lunkvist, kratsov, hajek, lindblom, and the first and replace them with Schneider and Barron and Canucks accept

See I think Schneider should be on the table. Where is he going to play with the Rangers? Fox and Trouba are on the right. Use him as a trade chip and get the best player you can.

I think they will eventually try to get out of Trouba's contract, but that's a fair argument. Trouba can turn into the $8M 3rd pair guy like Subban did at $9M.

I don’t get the trades for either the Canucks or Chicago. Why would Van want a guy who’s a best a 7th dman, a goalie who isn’t going to get signed to an contract, after he got drafted in the 2nd of the draft in 2018, he’s just struggled and Gauthier who has shown flashes of skill but hasn’t put it all together. At this point in his career looks like he’s going to be a 4th liner or a fringe 3rd liner

Like some people above have said it's not gonna happen unless Schnieder/Othmann is involved especially considering the Kings appear to be interested in him

I don’t want Miller. He was crap when he was here last and inconsistent. Not paying for that **** to happen again.

There is not a single legit top 6 or top 4 in that offer.

Canucks don’t want a bag of potential.

Rags are not getting a top 10 scorer with all that he does for a pile of contracts filling up the 50.

Well VAN isn’t making it this year, next year isn’t going to be a contender if they make it in. JT walks for nothing as he fully intends on signing in the US with his next contract. So next TDL could be a similar return as Pavelski/Giroux this year or you retain and move him this year for a lot more. This idea that it’s Schneider or bust is absurd and shows how little people know about the other prospects listed here, Lundkvist is legit NHL ready and solid but his play doesn’t fit the Drury mould the way Schneider does so I doubt there’s even a consideration of moving Schneider in gen he fits the mould.

Vancouver fans and Schneider, so funny. You can keep JT and all the rest of your players because Schneider will be a Ranger for many years. But keep dreaming I guess.
