I wouldn't trade Hronek for Dumba 1 for 1. Say what you want to about Bertuzzi but he will score at least 35 goals even missing the 9 games that Detroit played in Canada.

That size thing is very subjective, there's a plenty of same sized centers in the league. Granlund and Duchene are first that come to mind.

Bertuzzi is also pending UFA next year, and honestly that 3-way deal is more about DAL acquiring Hronek via futures (I think Bourque+Back+2nd for Hronek is plenty) and DET filling that hole with Dumba.

Me neither. But I would maybe trade Hronek for good prospects and Bertuzzi for Dumba+a pick. It's all about where DET think they are in with their rebuilding process.

I personally don't think the DET trade's that far off. Hronek = Bourque+Bäck+2nd and Bertuzzi = Dumba+2nd...I think I've seen worse.

Again; it's not about value. It's about need and we don't need Dumba or an undersized wing prospect. We need a bona fide center prospect. Wyatt Johnston is that prospect not Bourque. That's the price. I respect you and your opinion but Yzerman wouldn't do this and neither would I. Making a trade just because "the value is good" doesn't any sense for us at this point. We have one true need: a 1b center to go with Larkin.
