Works for boston, but shouldn’t buffalo want to keep tuch, given that he has term?

You're joking me with that trade right? Tuch more than likely is wearing the "C" in Buffalo next year and he is one of the limited players that wants to be here (he grew up a Sabres fan and is from the area). No way they are trading him. I'm also a bit confused about the lines, but that's a whole other thing

For 5 x $7,000,000 Forsberg would be staying in Nashville. try more like 7 x $8,500,000 if not closer to 7 x $9,000,000 for Fillip Forsberg.

Sabres who have lots of cap have no motivation to buyout Skinner and Okposo at this time

An Okposo buyout is for 2 years might as well keep him. A Skinner buyout period is for 10 years 5 years remaining x 2. That would be the dumbest mistake you could make to have 10 years worth of dead money on the books.

I mean Boston does that in a heartbeat, but Buffalo doesn't lol.

Zobril has zero value in this deal, so really its a 2nd + DeBrusk for Tuch.

On a more serious note, I gotta say this one is a head-scratcher.

First off, your buyouts - Jeff Skinner has 23 goals in 55 games this year, why would you want to just dump him? Especially considering his contract is a poisonous buyout - $8.8M next year, a couple seasons where it's "only" $1.3M, then $6.3M, $4.3M, and FIVE seasons of $2.3M. As for Okposo, his career is obviously winding down, but 2022-23 is the last year of his deal, so why not just let him play it out? Especially when you have a team here with $20+M in space. It would be silly to kick an extra $1.3M to the 2023-24 cap, when the team might be closer to contention and could use that space for upgrades, instead of spending it on a guy who's not going to be there either way.

As far as the trade, it's a real loser for Buffalo here. Even beyond the obvious off-ice stuff with Tuch (from upstate NY, grew up a Sabres fan, basically the centerpiece of the Eichel trade), he's a guy with 4 more years at an affordable hit ($4.75M) who's been close to a point per game player since coming back from injury (23 points in 25 games). In fact, he's got almost as many point this season as DeBrusk does in half the games (JDB=15-10-25 in 51 games.) Adding in a 25 year old post-hype prospect coming back from an ACL tear and a late 2nd does not move the needle enough to make up for the fact that Buffalo is trading a way a much more valuable player.
