This would be horrible
Maybe if Chiarot brings a 2nd + Prospect and we trade that 2nd vs McBain, but not the 33ish-35thish OA pick

Maybe. I'd wait until summer for that chance though. Seems like he's not willing to sign with Wild so I wouldn't bother spending much on him. Eventually Wild is forced to lower their asking price if no one is willing to pay for a maybe.

It's for cap space. It's complicated. All wild fans pretty much have said they would do that

Yeah it doesn't work, it doesn't help with cap space, and most Wild fans I've seen have understood that there's no reason for the Wild to acquire Weber.

I was just asking if they would sign him. The asking price for Mcbain is a second so if chariot gets a 2 second in his trade i would trade that second round but was just asking around smile

They probably would.
But I'd rather wait till free agency or get him for Weber rather than trading a high 2nd.

You need to understand Weber 7.8M counts during the summer and can only be placed on LTIR at the beginning of the year so they need to be cap compliant before putting Weber on LTIR (I think 😅)

How about you explain to me how it works then, and how it helps the Wild with their cap situation?

You can had 10% on the 81,5 millions cap space during the summer. So that gave team around 89 millions.

Since I can only assume you got the idea from Friedman, who himself didn't know what he was talking about, here's his #1 thought from March 9th:

Quoting: Elliotte
1. A lot of feedback to our podcast bit about Shea Weber’s contract and whether or not it would make sense for Minnesota. The answer, according to several capologists consulted for this blog, is no — and don’t expect the Wild to do it. “You do not want to be in long-term injury, over the cap, for years and years,” one said. “There’s nothing good about that.” It prevents you from accruing space, robs you of flexibility. (I didn’t realize you can’t trade for a player on LTIR without activating him first. That would be problematic for most.) There is also the question of whether or not Minnesota could put together a full roster before putting Weber’s contract on long-term at the start of the season. So, what seemed like a creative idea was anything but that.

No, Russo who covers wild said it was a mistake. He even said Guerin doesn't have any interest in having Weber's cap hold for 4 years. Friedman himself changed his mind the day after

We've apparently gotten calls about him from 2/3 of the league. We're letting his advisor talk to all the teams and figure out where he'd be willing to sign so he can give Guerin a list of teams to negotiate with. There definitely will be suitors willing to pay that price.

I know there's been interested teams, who wouldn't be? McBain looks like a promising player.

Still, what I said isn't exactly incorrect.

I'd just personally hesitate moving a high piece for a complete what if/maybe scenario. Sounds like shooting myself in the foot.
