Debrincat is not worth THAT cost, atleast to a team that is rebuilding

With the Detroit trade, yes, a change of scenery could help both. Sabers would have to add in this senerio, Zadina has more value in my opinion. He has worked very hard at other areas of his game and is playing well and just waiting for a breakout.

I'd personally like for teams like Buffalo and Ottawa to be into that fringy area, but I have a hard time believing that Tampa, Florida, Toronto and Boston are going to have any sort of drastic fall-off in that division that would allow Buffalo to make up 30-35ish points in the standings, or for Ottawa to see a 40ish point jump.

Could it happen? Sure, Boston seems like the team that *may* fall off sometime over the next couple of years, but it's going to be tough sledding. The Metro division is super strong too, so just getting into a wildcard spot is rough.

Hawks decline as they are just starting a rebuild. Cat who's 24 years old for Olofsson who's going on 27 years old and doesn't make sense for them and one 1st, another D LH prospect doesn't cut it.

I mean, it's a top 10 pick.

I don't like Middlestat's game at all... I'd rather gamble on Zadina figuring it out and chancing him being a bust, than trading for a guy I'm pretty sure is already a bust...

And Cat is a 24 year old elite goal scorer in the league....good luck getting anything close to that in the 2022 1st round

Just saying that only calling it a 1st doesn't do it justice.

Trade just doesn't make sense for buffalo at this point in time.

Pretty hard pass by the hawks. Hawks would be asking for one of Quinn/Cozens/Krebs + that 2022 1st. Just doesn't make sense for either side

I'd like to see them in the 85 point range and clear progress from the young guys, setting up a playoff berth in 23-24

I'd say no on the Red Wings trade. Zadina basically does everything well but score. I'm willing to give him another season to see if the goals come. Maybe Vrana can get him going. It could be wishful thinking on my part.

If you are just scratching Zadina, there is 0 reason to trade our 3rd line center for him. Krebs should stay on the wing. That's a fair package for DeBrincat if you remove the conditional 1st
