Even if he was picked 10th overall in 2021, Boucher is already considered a bust.

But you're right, they do it for OTT 2022 1st, and maybe Boucher is just having a bad year.

Every team not named Minnesota passes, And DeBrincat is already making $6,400,000 the odds of him signing for $7,000,000 x 3 years with Ottawa is 0%. And there's still better teams in the east that keep Ottawa from winning any cups anytime soon.

MTL declines both those. Pitlick as been a pleasant surprise, better than white this year and costs a lot less.
0 chance MTL is trading Roy or even Heineman they just got him especially for a G they don't need.
OTT giving up this year's 1st which will be top 5 is silly, giving up their 2023 1st unprotected is even worse, did you see the draft next year? Debrincat doesn't take 7M for 3yrs he will want term and probably more $

That is a heavy overpayment for Fiala. Honestly, if that's the cost, Ottawa should just hang up the phone and circle back to Giroux and add another $1M to their original 3 year offer.

Why would the HABS trade for White. $4.75M cap space and has done nothing since 2018.

You would have to throw in a 1st rd pick as well since Rem has been on fire.

Lol, a waiver pickup plays less than half a season with the Habs now he's worth a first round pick.

He shouldnt have been on Waivers in the first place. And he playing at a 50 pt pace for the season (MIN and MTL combined) and 52pt with Montreal on its own. If we sold him at the deadline, hed be worth a 1st or a 2nd + prospect (like the lehkonen deal)
