I would probably take the guy who’s on pace for 70 goals this year

Huberdeau isn’t even the best forward on his team.

Meanwhile, matthews is very likely to become the second player to score 50 goals with 100 points in the last decade. This is one of the greatest goal scoring performances of the century. That’s not hyperbole. The last guy to hit 60 was stamkos in 11-12. With ten or so games to go, matthews already has his hands on the 6th best goal scoring total in this century, is very likely to wind up with a top three goal scoring season in the 2000s, and the number one spot isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

If you don’t think thats Hart worthy, what is?

The craziest part is he also started slow because of his wrist surgery

I think Huberdeau 3rd seems unfair. McDavid and Matthews deserve it over him without a doubt

I don’t really care. Notice I never seek you out. I just find your stance funny and ridiculous. Not every leaf player is perfect. Auston matthews is as close as we’ve seen in a while.

Probably, but only because the votes aren't spread evenly across NHL cities.

Huberdeau is almost 30 points clear of the second point total on his team.... yes barkov is a great player but Huberdeau is their best player this year and its not close.

yes matthews is have a great goal scoring season but the voters always talk about most valuable to his team. where would Toronto be with out matthews... probably right where they are same spot finishing 2 or 3rd in their division.

now where would NSH be with out Josi I would bet probably no where close to the playoffs.
NY has a lot of weakness's that all get covered by Shesterkin with out him they are way out of the playoffs.

by the definition of the award those 2 are more deserving. Having marner playing with him almost 80% of the time hurts him the same as mcdavid and Dri

CD I agree with you he will probably get it because i think the majority of the voters reside in TOR

McDavid and Draisaitl don't play on the same line though, so I don't understand that comment.

Yes i know they dont they actaully only play together 5 on 5 about 20% of the time. but if you listen to all the reporters who have votes for the hart. They all say it hurts mcdavid and dri that they play together. Its sad really cus it not true but its their perception...

Favourite Team
Edmonton Oilers
2nd Favourite Team
Winnipeg Jets

If your 3rd Favourite Team was the Canucks we'd have the holy trinity of fanbases obsessed with Toronto.

i think it fair to say anyone who is not a toronto fan general dislikes toronoto... mainly because of the media and how it centered mainly on them. you can sign a no name player from europe and it makes the front page even though they are going to have 0 impact ever on the team...

thats my argument if Josi was having the season he is in TOR all the talk would be about him it is unreal what he has done for a less talented team.

Thats crazy talk. The bruins and lightning are breathing down the leafs necks, and if you take their best defensive center, who also happens to be the best goal scorer in the league off their roster, they’re probably a wildcard 2 type team.

Good thing making the playoffs isn't a criteria for the Hart trophy.

It's not an official criteria.

Florida would make the playoffs without Huberdeau, by the way.

your probably right which is why he is 3rd cuz he is also almost 30 points ahead of next on his team. Matthews is only 7 ahead of marner....
