Hello! I tried to put things in order in the team for the 2022-2023 season. This is my first attempt, so please be gentle.)
There are a lot of difficult contracts in our team that we need to get rid of, but this is not possible at the moment. First, Burns, Vlasik, Labank and Shimek come to mind (Shimek's contract is not heavy, but not pleasant). I don't want to trade Burns. At 37 years old, he brings value to the team, plays a large number of minutes and is still the face of the franchise. Perhaps it should be done in the next season, when Merkley will become more physically fit and improve his game. (But personally I would like to see Burns always a shark). With Vlasik, only the buyout of his contract will help, no one needs him with such a salary, and he himself said that he was not going to abandon the NMC. But to make room for a new Meier contract, it makes sense to make a buyout for the 2023-2024 season. I traded Shimek to Arizona, as they need to get a minimum payment and Shimek is not very bad, and in addition to Blichfeld, this trade takes place. I tried to trade Labanc for Boston. The Bears have been considering De-Brusk trade options for a long time, and if you believe that Labanc can return to the state of the 2018-2019 season, then this trade is the place to be. This trade is from the series "Why not?"
Also, I traded Balcers and Gregor. In my opinion, there are young players in the system who will move them out of the roster in the future, so I see no reason to keep them now. Tampa have a problems with cap and after Palat left they need some kind of winger for a small price. I think Balcers fits. Gregor was sent to Ottawa, because they like to take someone away from us).
Speaking of goaltenders. 3 goaltenders is an unaffordable luxury, and sending one of them to the AHL is very strange. Raimer as a backup will be good, he wants to stay with us. We exchanged Middelton for Kahonen for a reason, he seems to me more promising. Therefore, I sent Hill to Chicago, where the goalkeeper is urgently needed.
The Sharks don't have a lot of free cap space, but we need a quality and strong winger. The Hertl-Meier-Barabanov pairing works well, so my choice fell on Marchment, paired with Couture and Eklund. I thought about Trochek, but he is small in size. I considered Nichushkin as an option, but I think he will stay in Colorado.
And I think San Jose need a new Head Coach.
I did not trade such players as Bonino and Nieto. If San Jose is past the playoffs by the deadline, they can be traded.
Welcome Nik: I would suggest that 4.75m Lebanc is untradable , unless equally bad cap is returned in a trade. Teams just don't have the cap or desire to take on non value contracts, and right now Lebanc fits into that category.
Debrusk is on a better contract then LeBlank for less time and there is just not enough sweetener on the trade to make it pheasable. Then you flip DeBrusk for 10x the amount you acquired him for. That is just pure inconsistency. If Seattle wanted DeBrusk then they could just get him themselves.
If Debrusk still wants to be moved they will do it at the draft for picks to free up cap space. Lysell would get a look as his replacement. Labanc of no interest. There was an 8 month window that Boston would have done a 1 for 1. Window has closed.
I understand what you're saying about Chicago being in need of a goaltender, but the Hawks are trying to acquire assets, so parting with two picks (albeit not really high choices) is probably too much to give up. The Hawks can probably get a Hill-like goalie in free agency.
I think the Adin Hill trade is a good concept for the Hawks. Still 25 with upside, goalies have certainly come out of nowhere later in their career. I think with our draft capital, I would do Edmonton's 3rd rounder that we own this year, just because we have 3 3rds this year instead of tampas 2nd next year.

The difference between the DeBrusk's and Labanc's contract is 750k. I made up for this difference with a 5th round pick. This trade is subject to the condition that Labanc will return to his previous condition. I think a two year contract is not a big risk.

Both Labanc and DeBrusk have contracts for the next two seasons. I did this Debrusk maneuver in the spirit of Doug Wilson's old trades.

Yes, but look at the difference in production over the past couple of years. The trade going to Boston is insulting for Boston cause they are taking the worse player at a higher cap hit for almost nothing.

I created a trade only for the benefit of Sharks). There are many examples of trades where one GM outperforms another. And by the way, I do not offer a trade for Pasternak). DeBrusk is not a super player, so I traded him for picks in Seattle whenever possible.

What does Pasternak have to do with this? Sure certain GM's outpreform each other but each GM has to believe that there getting something back and I'm pretty sure that Don Sweeney would see nothing. Also as many Boston fans have told me he has played on the first line and saves them a lot of money over LeBlank who would not be playing above the third line cause Haula has looked decent. Boston is still getting the worst player who is paid more which in Boston would be a problem that does not do them anything and is not in an area of concern. But they are giving up a player from the wings which is an area of concern for them for nothing back. The sweetner is not enough.

Lebanc hasn't been good for years. How can you make a trade" that Lebanc will return to previous condition?"

Man, I see the logic in your words. It was only my suggestion).

Debrusk would cost you 23 2nd and a prospect.
After Hagel's trade to Tampa we can dream about different prices)

Why not? He is only 26. We saw how Labanc could play with high-skill players. A professional GM could find necessery words, creative arguments. I remind you, it was only my fantasy, which can take place.
He's a solid bottom 6 player for sure, and maybe OTT would jump on that offer, but they're also pretty stacked with LW options next season:
Tkachuk, Jospeh, Formenton, Kelly, Greig, Jarventie...
I'd also add that Ennis has done very well for OTT, is a much better finisher, and we already know he fits.
Not balking at the price, just stating there's not much need for him with the young guys coming up... which was exactly your reason for moving him in the first place.

I agree Ottawa isn't the destination. Columbus, AZ, Detroit, Buffalo are good options. I don't think we move him. Some nights he's the only guy trying.
