What to do with Heinola

Created by: Wpgman
Team: 2022-23 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 19, 2022
Published: Apr. 19, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Heinola should be traded if there is not a change in the coaching staff. I would like to trade him to the Rangers for Lundkvist. Rangers are set with Trouba, Fox, and Schneider on the right side for years but I think they need someone like Heinola on the left.

Play him with Schmidt where they posted a positive game score in every game but one. He should have over 100 games experience but Stanley, Beaulieu, Forbort needed ice time i guess :/

What could a package of Heinola + Wheeler 50% retained and a 1st round pick get ya?

Just to much of a waste of talent with this coaching staff.

Wheeler with 50% retained could bring in something good. At just over 4 Million and still productive- offers would be interesting. And to add Heinola and a 1st to the trade. I would trade for nothing less then a 1st pairing RHD to start.

With NYR already having Jones, Scanlin and Robertson (with Lindgren + Miller above as well) I doubt they'll trade Lundkvist for Heinola. Probably fair value just doesn't fit the need. Heinola wouldn't be much of an upgrade (if at all) for a third D pairing slot. If NYR trade Lundkvist it'll be for center help. Personally I think NYR should target Turcotte from LA since his performance hasn't been as expected.

If there was a trade like that, I’d jump on it. That’s what Winnipeg needs

Get a coach who doesn't bury young players.

Heinola has looked nice next to Schmidt, and Samberg has looked real nice next to Pionk.

The last six years has shown very little development of young players and look where we are.

An AHL rookie of the year turned into a bum.

Jack Roslovic is inching towards 20 goals, and he requested out because Maurice preferred to give more ice time to plugs.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of or both Samberg and Heinola request trades out of town.

Wheeler is just about a PPG this year which is wild to think about. I’d honestly just look to move wheeler at 50% on his own. Think he could fetch a decent pick/prospect.

Just hire NHL calibre coaching stuff and you will be fine. That's what the Jets desperately need. And to get rid of Scheifele and Wheeler
