You are about 3 years too late for this idea. Right now, I don't Parayko is going to get you either player. Parayko hasn't looked half as good since Pietrangelo left.

I don't think the Blues need Nylander. They have one of the best forward groups in the NHL and Parayko is a stud defenseman right in his prime.

I don't think they really have a replacement for him so you'd need to send Lili back for sure, possibly Brodie. And add a bit.

Is he though? He's not been as good as he was since Pietrangelo left.

Why is this still a thing? Why do we need to lose a trade to get a big RD that we really don't need.

Blues don't have a replacement for him. There's really no trade to be made unless we can get another D that can play on the first pairing.

Id say for the blues to move there number one dman who would leave a massive hole on there right side
leafs dont have the assets for him
willy and lili get you on the phone your right but i cant see the leafs having the right peices to replace a top 4 RD

leafs simply dont have the assets to get Parayko rn
nylander would be coming into an already stacked forward core and would just push guys down and hurt their develoment/playing time
not worth it for the blues as parayko has played very well since not having to play with scandella

I didn't say it is still a "thing". Remember we are on ACGM: a place to make mock teams. Key word mock (they don't have to be realistic). I'm just saying what the likely return would be in the hypothetical scenario that they aquire Parayko.

I agree, it doesn't make sense. But the question was asked what he would cost, so I answered it.

yea fair enough my bad

Ya, that's why I suggested Brodie. Which "value wise" would be fair (but I don't see why either team would actually do it).

It's definitely still a thing though, to half the people in the world, the Leafs are desperate for literally any big RD. Parayko looked incredible when Pietrangelo was in St Louis, since then he's been pretty good but its clear Pietrangelo is missed. TO doesn't need to and shouldn't lose a trade to get Parayko. Brodie has proven to be a very good top pair RD for us.

I never said they should do it. The title of the ACGM is "what would it take". So, I answered the question.

Unrelated question: are you the same person as pleasebanmeformyowngood?

Tell us you don't watch the Blues or really know anything about them without telling us... since the start of February, Parayko is #1 among all league defenseman in on-ice goals against and #3 in on -ice goals for. And counting last season, when his back was in a pretzel, is just silly. There are very few D-men in the league who have his package of size, skating, reach and skills, so he's not easily replaceable. Compared to him, Nylander types are a dime a dozen and the Blues have zero use for another scoring winger anyway.

That guy talks out of his a$$ most of the time. LOL Outside of the Leafs the hockey knowledge just isn't there. It's quite clear he hasn't watched many Blues games. I'd take Parayko over Nylander any day of the week and so would any NHL GM. Because you're right. It's much harder finding elite level D than scoring wingers.

I like the idea of Sandin as long term as Leafs, and Nylander for two season rather than seven years of Parayko. Beside Parayko doesn't waive.
