Whos the best support or puck retrieving forward

Description
Idea is if you have two star players on a line, who would be your first pick to be the third winger on that line to support the other two players.

I don't mean guy's who are elite on their own and play with two good line-mates (Landeskog, Pastranak, M. Tkachuk, etc...)

It's a hard line to draw as to who is good on their own without the other line-mates. Just an idea of if you had Matthews & Marner, Mackinnon & Rantanen, McDavid & Draisaitl, etc... who would be your first choice to be a puck retrieval guy to bring some energy to the line.

Don't worry about cap hits.

For me it would be between
Copp, Killorn, and Hyman

Jenner or Hartman, both are good two way centers, but wouldn’t have the point production that they would have without their linemates.

Ya those are both very good options, both compliment their line-mates very well

Ya nino would make sense but Staal and Fast play largely on a third line. So yes they retrieve pucks but I was more meaning guy's that would play on a top line. So ya Nino complimenting Aho and Svech would make more sense

Nino Staal Fast is the third line. They are the Canes checking and puck retrieval line. But if you are going by that criteria of top line forward, Turbo should be on here. But that’s just my opinion.

Elias Lindholm? Bryan Rust...Evan Rodriguez. Feel like Batherson, Konecny, and Wilson are all pretty dang good alone.

One of the best players in the league for board play is Joel Armia, the problem with Armia is he is overpaid and has not been up to his usual standards this year, but how can you go wrong with any of the guys listed above? Any player who is good at puck retrieval would complete a top line.

Okay ya so should maybe switch Nino with Teravainen then, haven't watched many canes games since they got Domi

Ya i thought about Lindholm, I would just consider him a little more than a compliment player, somebody that could drive his own lines offense. Ya Rust would be another good one

Ya I am a big fan of Armia and he likely would be able to elevate to that role if he was put in that scenario. Mainly kept him off this list because he's never really played that role before. He's more just been a third and fourth line puck retrieval guy rather than playing up with the big boys. Anderson would be another one that could be on this list from playing with Suzuki and Caufield

Jesse Puljujarvi, hands down. But McDavid and Draisaitl don't play on the same line.

Nuke is an incomplete player, but if we’re only looking at puck retrievals he’s hard to beat.

If we’re talking only wingers, someone like Stone is a more high octane player that does this better than anyone in the game. But I don’t think you’re looking for superstars on this list lol.

Ya for sure, more just a theoretical if they did who you would want on their wing

Ya true obviously it would be different if you were looking for a puck retriever to play with Mackinnon/McDavid on the Olympic team. Then you'd look more at guy's like Marchand, Stone, Marner, etc... But was more just thinking of a reasonable player for an nhl first line
