I think that WPG trade needs to be the BUF pick to make it happen. WPG isn’t in rebuild

I’ve never seen that, but either way it’s still a terrible offer.

How are they going to lose them? One has a contract and one is an RFA. Besides Mittlestadt is neither a 1C, goaltender, or even useful for that matter. So, I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

I would bet that Buffalo tries to trade the Vegas or Florida first for a younger goalie that fits their timeline.

Yes, just like Vesalainen, hes a throw in. You really think this trade centers around Mittelstadt and not the 1st?

Varlamov is worth more to the Islanders than a 3rd round pick.

You really think a late first on it's own gets you a top 4 defenseman?

I disagree about value of the two completely.

LA would be willing to trade Grans for Johnson. Faber is closer to the Clarke tier in terms of chances of being traded, from LA's perspective.

Yeah Grans isn't that good so he's easy to give up. Faber is close to Johnson in value

I would honestly consider that trade, I have a feeling Pionk is just ok to be honest. was decent his first year for us, good second year, but was bad this year.

Faber and Johnson are teammates, so it makes no sense to send them in opposite directions. The ton of RD we have include four more expendable prospects, so we would be sending one of them instead of Faber. And Faber (as well as Clarke) have different skill sets from the four "surplus" RDs we would make available to Buffalo.
