Pittsburgh isn't just gonna casually move Marino. They would only do it if they are legitimately trying to improve their team somewhere else. They especially wont move him if Letang walks

Rangers and Pittsburgh 100% passes, Marino sure isn't being dealt if Kris Letang walks.

Thats such an incredible deal for the rangers. How could they ever pass on that?

Drury might accept it, Just don't see Drury cutting loose of Kakko quite yet.

Cutting loose? Getting a 1st, 2nd, 3rd + is cutting loose?

Kakko isn’t worth that.

You're right Kakko isn't worth that, All the more reason why Kent Hughes would never offer it. So it's moot anyways.

The only one of these the Habs should target is Marino but that's only because of Petry likely being gone this off season. The price would be to high though, Letang walks means Marino is an asset Pit cant move.

The rest are easy no's for me.

Just sign Big Nick as a UFA, trade for Gudas since Florida needs to shed salary and hope for Bedard next year, it's not that hard

Kakko for a middle 6 forward maybe some day, a late 1st an extras. Drury just laughs and hangs up

I would like to add Perron as well but Marino would be a great add IF Pittsburgh signed Letang. I would still do it if Petry stayed though, then lineup

Edmundson-Petry
Romanov-Marino
Harris-Barron

Habs fans seem to have a fetish for Rangers busts.

I can see Drury making the move with the cap crunch if he doesn't see Kakko being worth whatever he would be paid. I don't feel like he deserves a big raise, not sure what he is forecasted for, but would be good pieces for the Rangers to use to deal for a 2C if the other team retains money to help pay for other areas.

NYR,PIT and NJ will all ask for NHL level Players, not prospects/futures. So I disagree with your trades.

I do agree on your list of players that need to be liquidated though.

Probably NJ and NY, but I think Pittsburgh are going into a solid rebuild.

Negociating hard and letting 1-2 veterans go to get capspace for new UFA signings isn't a "solid rebuild" at all.

Not sure PIT goes into full rebuild mode with Crosby still in the lineup. They may do a short-term re-tool, try to be competitive for another year or two and when Crosby packs it in, then you really blow it up.
