No, I do not think it is realistic

Not realistic trades, not realistic contracts

Devils dont move Mercer for 8 years of Fiala let alone 2 of Nylander and the injury prone Muzzin

Devils trade isn't really close at all.
There's no point for them to trade a long-term core piece for two years of Nylander, especially when they probably won't be competing for the cup in that timeframe.
Wouldn't rule out Mercer being as good or outright better than Nylaner in two years time either.

Honestly don't see the point in Leafs trading Nylander either, he's a fantastic player on a good aav.
These last two years of Nylander pretty much covers the length of this current window of contention for the Leafs as well.

I actually think this is fairly realistic. Couple of notes:
- I think dumping Mrazek costs more (maybe add a 2nd)
- Trochek probably costs more as a UFA, I'm thinking closer to 6.5 mil

Besides that I think it's alright and Trochek seems like he'd be a great fit for this team if they move Nylander.

Buffalo probably declines, I would want a pick this year. Those 2 throw in's really hold no value

Devils aren't trading Mercer. Trochek gets more. Goaltending is weak. Muzzin isn't waiving for NJ. Engvall gets more. I don't know why you'd want Malgin back. Dubie wants more grit. Liljegren and Sandin likely make much less on 2 year deals as Dubie will kick the can down the road. Russian Bear gets more. Zadorov gets more. Sabres don't want Mrazek. I can't see Glass Kase being qualified.

The most realistic trade is probably the Rangers in terms of trade value if that's the equivalent of a 2nd and 3rd, but Drury isn't going to move him for a haul like that. There are a lot of teams that need goalies and not too many available on in FAs so he's going to take as long as he can to get a great deal. Igor is great, but doesn't mean he's going to be playing 60-70 games. So they can still use Georgiev to play 25-30 games until he gets the deal he wants or he needs to trade him.

I think it's really the question if they want to pay him that for how bad he's been for them.

Yeah, I don't think he fits the profile for what Toronto is rumoured to be looking for if they don't keep Campbell and signing him for that much probably just leads to another Mrazek situation. I think you always want to try goaltenders in Toronto before paying them.

Mercer has only been in the league for a year and he's an ELC contract and fits the younger offensive core of Jersey. Nylander can just walk way from them in 2 years, they are hardly ready for that so it makes no sense for them to move Mercer for Nylander especially since they would have to add. Mercer's ELC contract gives them cap flexibility to go sign FAs like Nylander who become available while he's still on ELC.

Holl has more value than a 7th, and he put 2 prospects and a 3rd. That's hardly "free". Toronto will probably just buy him out if they can't just straight up dump him or add a reasonable sweetner to get rid of him.

The man put up 80 points and a point of game in the playoffs, be lucky if mercer is a 50 point guy. save the money you will overpay gaudreu and sign willy to an 8 by 8

A 20-year center coming off a 42-pt rookie season with two more years of ELC left. If he is nuts, I don’t want to be sane.

Mercer put up 42 points as a 20 year old on a bad team, 50 points a year isnt even close to his ceiling. Its okay to admit you dont know about players, calling someone nuts when you clearly havent paid close attention to how good mercer is just makes that clear

What if Nylander puts up 100pts on Jersey next year? He's not signing 8 for 8. All you are saying is that they shouldn't sign an expensive forward in UFA this season and stay course. Maybe they go sign the guys leaving Tampa for 4-6m instead.

Guess we will have to wait and see, I predict mercer doesnt hit 80 ever in his career. Remind me about this bet in 15 years

Mercer also played 3rd line minutes for most of last year
He could get 50+ easily if he plays next to Hughes next year

This is absolutely ridiciulous in my opinion to compare nylander to mercer... I get player control but come on now... big difference between 40 point guy and 80
