Cost to unload Mrazek's contract is somewhere between 20OA and 35OA... which in the Leafs case, would be their 1st round pick.

Lol, not a freaking chance. If that’s the price he gets bought out.

I honestly think it has nothing to do with what Detroit gets in return for taking Mrazek I just don't see Yzerman bringing him back to the Wings.

Uh oh it's Mrazek! His contract's got a hold on you (Dubas) got a hold on you.

Mrazek just can't stay on the ice, we definitely need someone who can take heavy minutes Ned can't play 60 games.

I was just picking a random team that might need a goalie, I'm also not 100% sure what the payment would be to unload his contract, but the Leafs could also retain 1M and be fine, so that might reduce the cost.

Price is so high to move Mrazek the Leafs are better off buying him out. But Dubie did find a home for Thick Nick Ritchie when no one thought he could so I don't know.

His issues were with Holland and then maybe to some degree Babcock and Blashill, I don't think that applies anymore. Still, I don't see it happening either, but I'm not opposed to bringing him back if it nets us a 1st round pick, hell, even if we send him to GR for the next two years and eat the dead cap. Sign Hellberg as backup and make Mrazek beat him in camp.

Detroit passes, No GM is taking on Mrazeks contract without a 1st round pick coming back. Since you've no 2nd round picks left other than the 2024 which is still 3 drafts away.

I really don't think Yzerman takes the chance.

This entire time I legitimate thought Mrazek only had one year left, jeez what a terrible contract. I think you might be right, best to buy him out.
