Description
This is just for fun as I do not know the value of Suter / Comrie.

Backy and Hags retire.

Nich and Trocheck are brought in during FAs (Trocheck might be higher cap I just don't know)

Suter is brought in for versatility (I think that trade might be SLIGHTLY an overpay but Red Wings fans are pretty tough to please on here)

Comrie had a really nice season this year (SMALL sample size though). I would rather go for someone more established, but I have done those GM teams - trying to switch it up with new thoughts. Jets need cap relief. VV, who only had slightly worse numbers, will have a lower cap

Kulak brings extra stability to the defensive front

Wilson is on IR until ~Jan (kept him on IR so his cap still counts) so let Snively and AJF fight out for the final winger spot

Yeah honestly that is what I thought. But I truly did not know Suter's worth. I just think he has potential to e a solid middle 6 forward and can reach that on the Caps

At 2.5 for Comrie, just bring back Holtby as a backup.

WPG will be adding. VV is way more established.

I like Suter but I'm not paying that price. A 1 for 1 trade makes sense. If anything, DET adds.

I would take Comrie over Holtby 100 times out of 100 times. Yes Comrie is not proven, but he is younger and has more potential than Holtby (what you see is what you get for Holts). People forget, besides his fantastic run in the 2018 playoffs, he was very inconsistent. And now, his numbers have gotten worse and is certainly not a goalie who can split time.

Comrie would come in and split time with Sammy (or hopefully take over the #1 job). Wishful thinking? Maybe.

But Holts is a def no for me.

That is what I thought as well - but I tried not to be bias.

He's fit to be a good 3rd line center, decent 2 way guy. I dont think his offense really fits a top 6 role.

VV would be an upgrade, so I'd imagine WPG adds. BUT, what does VV's next contract look like? Dobber lists it as potentially $2.7M, which is too much for Helle's backup. I think WPG just takes their chance at re-signing Comrie at around $1.5M. Comrie himself recently said it would be pretty easy for WPG to convince him to stay - he oddly seems to like WPG.

I don't understand why Detroit would add. They are close to the same but Suter is 7 years younger. Washington adds for sure.

VV would get somewhere between 1.5 - 2mil, no more

The difference is that Eller is a one year rental whereas Suter is a long term solution to a 3C problem. Suter is also better defensively.

    I'd keep Suter.

Probably but they’re building the right way and heading in the right direction.
