wings decline

Nylander is the better player and has far more skill whereas Bert is the guy you want for a Cup run. I'll keep Bertuzzi, you can keep Nylazynder

Exactly my thoughts. As a Wings fan, I DON'T want Nylander. He doesn't fight for pucks.

You are trading cap dump candidates for guys who are actually good at hockey. It’s not remotely fair to the Isles.

-Easy no from the Islanders, but I assume it doesn't even get to them because Muzzin blocks the deal with his NTC.

-I can't really see the Wings doing that - Nylander might be better than Bertuzzi but I just don't think they're in the "spending to upgrade positions" part of the rebuild yet. I think it could go either way though, the value is more than fair, if not a little tilted towards Detroit.

-Driedger got injured at the World Championships and is out through at least January of next year it looks like; I could maybe see Seattle trading for Mrazek as a warm body to throw back there but I don't think Toronto is going to get the value they want from this deal.

And for what it's worth, you have the room to go bigger with Miles Wood's deal and I think you'd have to. Even with the injury he had last year, I can't see him taking basically a 50% pay cut next season from the $2.75M deal he was on. Someone will throw him at least $2M, if he even hits the market with the Devils not qualifying him.

Mrazek to Seattle is definitely possible with the Driedger injury (assuming we're not wanting him back in a trade). It makes their goaltending awfully expensive though and they'd then have to do something once Dreidger returned. They might be willing to do it assuming they can move Mrazek (maybe even with retention) afterwards but goalie trades aren't as simple.

I definitely think there are teams who could use Mrazek, and if he gets bought out I think there'll be lots of interest. It's the cap number and the 2nd year that's a problem.

Detroit declines.

Driedger is out for 9 months, So he's basically missing most of the season.
