No thanks, Moore led the Kings in points after January when he was moved to Danaults line. No take backs.

I don't think the Leafs should make that Kings trade at all. Why give up a first in that situation? Kerfoot has value, first of all as a good NHL player, and second of all once his bonus is paid his salary is only 750k. He is going to be an asset to help any team looking to save money reach the cap floor.

If the Leafs can get Kuemper for that they absolutely should.

We did, we don’t need firsts, we need a top-line winger or a legit LD. This gives us none of that and loses Moore who we hope will be with the Kings a long time.

Really? Because my first thoughts were heck no, that’s way to much for Moore.

You think the leafs should add moore?

That’s fine, the Kings have a very good prospect pool, with Moore fitting so well with Danault at such a low cap hit the Kings can now afford to swing for a more expensive top line winger. The Kings are now just like the Leafs trying to win playoff games, not continue rebuilding. It can happen that a trade is bad for both teams.

Ya, I agree. I don’t really see a fit for either team here.

Moore and Kerfoot were eerily similar players - both 27 y/o left-handed wingers who can occasionally (poorly) take a faceoff (both have FO percentages in the low 40s with Kerfoot doing it a bit more than Moore), both put up nearly identical production (13-38-51 for Kerf, 17-31-48 for Moore), both had pretty even deployment between o-zone/d-zone starts, the only real difference is that Moore got occasional PP2 time and Kerfoot didn't. Oh, and then there's the cap hit - $3.5M for Kerfoot, $1.875M for Moore. I gotta agree that the fit is just not there - LA is correctly going to ask for a bigger return in the deal, and Toronto is going to balk at paying much extra for basically the same player at a lower cap hit. Both sides pass on whatever the fair deal would be - but this one here is an overpay and the Kings easily accept.

I'd say this is a pretty fair analysis.

We think that we shouldn't trade Moore.

We need a William Nylander with 4 years' term or a slightly cheaper, slightly younger Morgan Rielly. You got neither.

No, it's not. It's completely accurate as far as it goes, but misses the dispositive point that local boy Moore will re-sign with Los Angeles if we keep him and there's absolutely no assurance that Kerfoot would.

You want that for Moore? You’ll have to add moore than that to Moore to do that haha.

Yes, the hometown boy factor is another reason for LA not to do this. To be clear a Toronto wouldn’t do it either.

He's from Thousand Oaks, that bedroom suburb just across the Los Angeles County line into Ventura County where that mass shooting at the country-and-western bar occurred a couple of years ago (just before he was traded to us).
