What happened to the 2nd yesterday? That's the real thing the Hawks are looking for. Harkins isn't what's thrilling them.

I was seeing if I could get away with that swap, clearly not haha wink I'd have to adjust the Kapanen trade, perhaps including a prospect instead in that deal.

I like the Kapanen move, although I think it would likely be that late 1st Jets got from the Rangers to get him. Uselful top 9 player who can do alot of things. I heard Schmidt on illegal Curve this wknd, doesnt sound like a guy who's up for waiving his no move clause.

Fair enough, I could see that as well. In regards to Schmidt, I personally love him on the Jets but moved him purely for cap reasons. If we have to move someone else instead for cap reasons, I would be okay with that. Maybe Dillon? Even though I like him as well, I think Samberg is an easy and cheaper replacement.

Pitt accepts, he is probably only worth a 3rd at this point but I could see a second happening

Not sure how free agency is looking, but I would be kind of keen to kick the tires possibly on domi or maybe strome, add the occasional Center option, probably outbid or termed on copp now, and possibly no interest by domi or strome, but would be kind of interested on kicking the tires anyway, before buying cap or the usual adventure.

Haven't we learned enough already that Wheeler and Scheifele are terrible together? Please god do not have them playing 20+ minutes a night together again next season.

I think Strome would be an excellent target for WPG!

There are SO many variations that could happen within that top 9, I have no issues separating those 2 and would tend to agree with you there.

Id like to see Schmitt stick around for more than a season and not get dealt for a 3rd rounder for the 3rd straight off season.

I completely agree, I love Schmidt...just didn't know who else to move for the cap space.

For sure...he makes just a tad too much cash.
Personally Im hoping for a Wheeler deal to free up space. Not sure how it happens but man...what the jets could do with 8 plus cap space

If they put Schmidt on the 1st PP like they should've he probably puts up 45-50 points and then no one would be entertaining the idea of trading him, he's sooooo much better QBing the PP than Morrissey, this organization MUST get away from their loyalty program if they want to be better than what they are now.

100% agree. it starts with the coach and a new voice and direction. I saw that Trotz bought a place in Nashville so maybe he's off the table. Maybe Deboer? or some up and coming coach? i dont know

I hope the new guy is better at deployment and ice time distribution than the old guys.

Separately, some of the Barry Trotz rumours are getting really creative. The one where Trotz told two guys at a Swift Current gas station that he was going to coach the Jets was my favourite. 😀

I saw the Nashville thing too. That said, I think he always maintained a Nashville place and maybe this was just him downsizing from whatever place he had before. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is my thoughts as well, personally not reading too much into him buying a place. He spends quite a bit of time down there even when coaching WASH & NYI I believe.

A three bedroom place makes sense on the surface: one for him and his wife; one for his son who lives with them and one guest room for whenever his other adult children visit.

I like the Kubalik and Kapanen acquisitions, this lineup while better still doesn't excite me too much, think they'd be somewhat better but not way better by a significant measure.

Really need to upgrade that top D pair somehow and that bottom six still looks uneven, just don't know what Perfetti and Kubalik would be able to do with Lowry.

I like that 4th line but its not a typical 4th line, Wheeler's decline is a factor too though adding some middle 6 forwards should at least give some pieces to move around and experiment with to find lines that work, that is if the Jets hire a coach with a brain and not another Maurice who couldn't build a line to save his life.

Papa Lowry was no better than Maurice with his poor lines, couldn't believe injuries/Covid forced him to stumble into a 3rd line centered by Copp that scored TWO GOALS and then he broke up the line in the 3rd period of that game!!... 🤯😆😂
