Do we think that dadonov is gonna be “wheel and dealt” or no
Just wanna see opinions since he didn’t waive for ANA and is now waiving for MTL?

Stays till TDL and then gets traded at 50% to a competitor

Thats my guess

That’s not a good idea
Canadiens are not a contending team

That’s pretty dumb. The Hans are nowhere near a competitive team. Should tank one more year minimum

To get to the cap floor

Arizona or Buffalo can get to the floor without losing assets

Technically it did cost Vegas something

Cap flexibility as LTIR contracts arent necessarily a good thing for a team

But anyways now they can spend over the cap and extend Hague, Roy and all the other RFA's

There was an article explaining it but I dont remember where it is lul

To get to the cap floor

news flash: if a team wanted to get to the cap floor, they’re not gonna pay another team for their bad contracts and get them out of a jam. they could literally just overpay someone in free agency. the best deal you’re gonna get is LTIR contract for future considerations.

I agree. Don’t understand why everyone likes it so much for Montreal. It’s a massive Vegas win unless Weber comes back.

Yeah I could see that - it would be stupid and short sighed though. Habs need to tank for another year at least.

yea i think its a mistake not to tank for the 2023 draft.

The thing we can take advantage of, is, dad plays well with Suzuki and caufield, we retain and deal him at the deadline for a good haul.
But that's all theoretical. For Vegas, it's guaranteed
That makes vegas win the trade

Oh it could work out for the habs for sure, but right now it’s terrible based on Dadonovs value.

Will need to do the math but I believe now Vegas can afford to bring all their RFA's back and bring back Rielly Smith at 4mill

Dadonov got 16 pts in 16 games after the deadline trade was aborted. LTIR isn't just free cap space and it wasn't ideal to have both Price & Weber on it.

And it costs habs ownership money for someone who isn't playing *wink*

Given that Weber was dealt away that'd suggest Price is probably playing too. No LTIR money for them so they can accrue that cap space.

To be fair Dadonov is owed more money next year than Weber for the rest of his contract
