The 1st is bare minimum to dump EJ. I would hope the Vezina runner-up at 3mil for the next 4 years would bring in a helluva lot more than an overpaid mediocre 1B and a 2nd. Kylington is worth over double that, you don’t trade young 2-way top 4 defensemen for nothing (Romanov just got pick 13oa+ and Kylington is better than him lol). Speaking of Romanov, that deal’s not good either, because Lindholm is making under 5mil with like 2 or 3 years left and he’s a 40-goal Selke-calibre 1C. This deal is at least a 1st short of his value, a 1st two years down the road and a 2nd three years down the road can’t be some of the prime assets lol

I could go on but I think I’ve proved my point. They all suck. The only one that might get accepted by the Flames is the Backlund trade if there was no retention.

Nah, the Colorado trade is an utter abomination that should be investigated if it ever happens, and the Kylington deal is bad, too.

You could argue the Kylington one is bad too, but Markstrom w/o salary retained is fair Imo. At the same time, I think Markstrom is a tad overrated.

Yeah, except there is 12M of retention. And even without it, that trade is still a fleecing.

Lindholm is great and I think the value given up for him is fine from the Isles, but we don’t need another center with Barzy, Nelson, Pageau, and Cizikas down the middle long-term. Better destinations if he were to be traded

Think a Lindholm trade makes more sense for the Rangers than the isles
