Anaheim and Winnipeg decline. Hoffman is a cap dump and Dubois is worth more. It’s also worth mentioning he downplayed his agents comments about Montreal.

The Jets have absolutely no reason to give Dubois away for such a poor return. You'd need to add an unprotected 1st to Hoffman to return that much.

Both trades are so blatantly biased towards MTL.

What do you think PLD will fetch?

If he does get traded it will likely be a first, good - top prospect and a decent roster player. I don't think Farrell is that prospect they want. Might need a bit more, not totally sure.

Might want to stop playing NHL 22 for a while. Most of the NHL GM’s aren’t as stupid as the AI in NHL 22.

At the TDL in 2 years he would get a 1st and good prospect, so for the extra two years or would be mire than that.

The problem with this offer is Farrell as a LW prospect, holds little to no value to Winnipeg.

So this deal is at least getting the gm's talking.

What people don't realize, is that Dvorak could end up being as good or better than Dubois.
Dubois only has 50 more points while playing 3 more games than Dvorak in his career. That's negligible considering the difference in deployment.
They are very comparable players in terms of impact while playing different roles. Any additional pieces in a trade are simply to bridge any gap in perceived value.

If you don't want Dvorak and would prefer a more pick/prospect heavy package, that's fine, but if Dvorak is included, a 1st and middling prospect is at least sufficient to cover a difference which may not even exist. Dvorak could have easily put up 60 points in Dubois' role this season while winning more faceoffs and taking less penalties. The difference between them isn't a top prospect and an unprotected 1st.

Yeah, zero chance Dvorak ends up being as good or better than Dubois. At 26, Dvorak is what he is. A marginal 3C that misses a lot of time and doesn't put up much in points. There is a massive chasm between 3 years of Dvorak and 2 years of Dubois.

2 years of Dubois>>>>> 3 years of Dvorak.

I don't think so. 2 years of Dubois is worth way more than 3 of Dvorak. I think the Jets would leanto a first and better prospect package over this type of deal.

Again, he's only 50 points behind Dubois in the same number of games, in a less offensive role.
Dubois has more room for development, thus the difference in value.
I'm not saying a 1-for-1 swap makes sense, only that the difference isn't two highest end pieces.

50 pts isn’t exactly a small number. I’d be more willing to agree if it were 20 pts but 50 is completely in a different realm.

Price isn’t retiring; he might LTIRetire but he isn’t walking away from 30+ million to do the Habs a favor

Not when you consider a 20% swing in offensive zone starts.
Agree on Price. Best chance for him to get a cup is to agree to termination and lose all that money. Not likely.
