Take out Zadina the Wings trade is realistic. Doubt they want Compher though.

If you forego the ZAR signing, you should be able to keep Compher... which is probably preferred, even if it's just for the next year. Zadina is gonna want the bag if he succeeds on COL, so you're gonna lose him next year anyway

3 things: this blocks Broberg’s development, I like Petrov too much and we can’t fit him into our cap situation

Moving Barrie and Foegele seems like a big road block in todays cap world.

Wings pass, They don't need Compher, Potentially up to 5 prospects could make the team.

1 Simon Edvinsson.
2 Jonatan Berggren.
3 Donavan Sebrango.
4 Albert Johansson.
5 Elmer Soderblom.

So Detroit doesn't need Compher period.

I'm not say all 5 make the opening night lineup, Just that all 5 could see some playing time this season.

Kadri is not getting 8m, hes not getting that from the Avs
They wont be moving Girard either,

As friedman and other avs beat writers said, if Kadri comes back to the the Avs its for a discounted number that the Avs wont have to move Girard to fit.
They arent blowing up their team for him

If they signed Kadri for say 6.5 or 7 they can fit Compher still. Can't remember the exact numbers but I believe after Kadri and the Girard trade I was still around a million over the cap and Compher seemed like the logical guy to go as he was expensive for third line

Don't disagree but Kadri would have to sign for like 4 million for that to work which would be shocking.

Trade description notes it's contingent on Oil shipping out Barrie and Foegele. Petrov is nice but with Holloway, Tullio, Bourgault, Savoie and Lavoie in the mix they have to trade one of value to get value in return

We have to ship one of them out to make room for McLeod and other depth pieces anyways, I’m telling you it doesn’t make sense to take on a 5 mill dman who blocks Broberg’s progression

Both Girard and Kulak can play the right side. Edmonton's biggest weakness is it's defense. I think improving that is the number 1 goal if Edmonton wants to win over the next 3 years, in my opinion

And that’s the situation that is realistic, already reported that his desire is to start in Colorado but the avs have let it known they have a lesser number hat they can only offer. My guess is it’s 6mx4 years.

For kadri to come back to the avs it’s him valuing being on the avs more than his contract

Avs aren’t in a bidding war to sign him, and they aren’t loving a cost controlled young top 4 dman to make room for him.

Would love kadri back but he’s not the straw that stirs the drink that pushed them to a cup

Would still have to shed salary for a 6M contract though

Idk man I had to come up with a spot on the fly after not being cap compliant after the first deals leave me alone. Throw a pick back to Detroit if you want to make it appealing for you

its bc of Detroit. They have a real hatred of taking on compher. Every time its proposed they get very aggressive of it
Buffalo would take him, their fans wants him

No use for "useful" players in Detroit. Detroit's forward core consists of legit top 6 in Larkin, Raymond, and Bertuzzi, then a bunch of useful players that get slotted above where they should be, then a few prospects, and finally Adam Erne. You can have Erne.

After signing 10 UFAs I think Yzerman and the Wings are pretty much done for the offseason. Do you think the reason Colorado hasn't signed Kadri is because they don't want him because he is too much of a liability.
