Yup, would suck to lose Ully but Hague would be worth it. About the only way I would do it.

Yeah, I just can't see VGK doing that. That's a pretty big overpay.

I need to be educated by the two of you.
Please understand, I am not trying to start a fight, I just need help.
I do not see the value that you two in Hague.
He does not hit, block shots, sixth among VGK TOI, fourth PK time and a 53.3 OZ%.
Yet both of you think he is the best thing since sliced bread, please help me to understand your evaluation of him?

I can’t either. But only way i’d do it. Trading a goalie that was 12th in sv% 9th in GAAA and 12th in GSAA does not make you better team as a rule. I just like Hague and they need to realign the LD. Move Grizz and Forbort in the offseason.

Fun to dream. But it’s not happening.

He's a big young promising dman. Remember that he's only 23 and VGK has a logjam of LHDs, so he's not necessarily going to get huge minutes there right now. He may not be overly physical for his size, but he does use his body well and has solid offensive production while getting better in his own end.

Is he going to be a top-pairing dman? Probably not, but he's well on his way to being a good 2nd pairing dman and that's worth more than a back-up, even if it's a good back-up.

I don’t think he’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. I just think he’s going to be a good solid 2nd pair that has size and can move the puck.

23 and playing limited role his 82 game average.

6g 18a 127hits 99blk

Compare that to Grizz a finished product with a bigger role

5g 21a 55hit 77blk

6’6 221 compared to 5’9 170.

Younger, long term asset. Allows them to move all 3 LD making 3m. Lindholm/Hague/Zboril would be solid left side for years to come at reasonable cap hit.

That my friend is an excellent answer, I thank you very much.
Letting Ullmark walk was just one of many bone head moves that Kevyn Adams made before Jason Karmanos was hired as associated GM.
None of the Sabre ACGM's noticed how much Adams become when Jason cam on board.

Grzelcyk should be easy to move but Forbort, I think that will take a huge sweetener.
BTW, I love how Sweeney is going all in this year!
He will obviously pay the price next year with cap carry over but he can worry about that next year.

Again thank you both.
Ullmark is more of a1B GK than a pure back up.
He won more, lost fewer, better SV% and more blocked shots in the same 41 games that Swayman played.
I wish Buffalo had not lost him, I really liked him and was happy he did well in Boston.

Real issue is that Ullmark has a full NMC. So even tho this return is an overpay, the only way a trade can happen is if both Cassidy and Ullmark want to reunite in Vegas.

I think he’d do it. Chance to be unquestioned #1. Familiar with coach. Knows he may get moved in the offseason anyway.

Agreed. I don’t know the impact the long term cap ramifications would have with Lehner tho.

Hip injuries for goalies can be long term problem.

Lehner only has a 5 team NTC next year as well. If both healthy move one of them in the offseason.

But ya, sadly, Vegas is already over the cap next year too. Lol.

Not sure what Ullmark's motivation is to waive his NTC

Stated above. Clear #1. Familiar with coach. Likely traded by Boston next offseason as cap casualty. And a side note 5m looks a lot better in state without income taxes. Vegas has easier path to playoffs. Nevafa winters better than Mass.

Though Nevada winters may be better, any team in the western conference has a poor travel schedule compared to teams in the east. Arizona and Dallas....especially brutal.

He’d obviously have to waive and we’d have to hope he liked Cassidy

I love the train of thought. Pretty sure after a year of Boston Media, Ullmark would jump at the opportunity to leave and be a guaranteed #1.
