1. You’re not getting Girard for Toews. Girard is a cost controlled top 4 D that’s young. Toews is an old 3C on an expiring contract.
2. Kane does not get you Schneider Kakko and a First. That’s ridiculous. You’d be lucky to get Schneider.
3. I highly doubt any team has interest in getting Seth Jones

Thats probaly what you need to get kane. You would be competing with teams that want to re-sign kane.

If you think Kane gets like 3x what DeBrincat got I have a bridge to sell you

1. No Chance you get Girard for Toews. If a Toews gets traded it’s probably going to be, 1-2 second round picks. Expect 50% RS and a prospect since Toews can still play.
2. Rangers aren’t trading or great prospects. If a Kane trade happens it’s going to be, 1-2 first rounders. A prospect and a solid roster player. Expect 50% RS and who know maybe they get an additional third or second round.
3. The Jones contract isn’t moveable.

kakko is worth a second round pick. In essence you have Schneider a 1, 2 and 3 round pick going for Kane. If the team that makes the trade gets to resign him it is absolutely worth it. If kane is just purely a rental then he is probably worth a late first round pick and schneider.

Kakko absolutely is not just worth a second. He hasn’t lived up to a second overall pick but he’s not worth a second. The rangers refused to do Schneider one for one for Miller last year. The gap between Kane and Miller isn’t that huge, especially with Miller playing centre. If you think Kane gets you that return, you’re going to be really disappointed

Kane would be a rental to the Rangers, and as a rental, he wouldn't get you Schneider 1 for 1. As a rental he may get a 1st round pick and a prospect like Kravstov or Lundqvist, and that's max. If thats not enough, look elsewhere to trade him.

As a Stars fan I think Jones would be a great fit as Miro's partner, but at 9.5x8 there is just no way that that can financially work long term because if they made this trade there would be a very real chance that the Stars would have 6 guys making 8+ plus in the next two years and that's not a recipe for success especially when two of them are declining (Could even throw Jones in that category as well). Maybe if the Hawks were willing to take Lindell, Faksa, and Khudobin, or two of those guys and retain at least 25%, it could maybe work, but still it doesn't make a ton of sense for the Stars or Hawks really
