I would love to see Farrell make it to the first and be a good fit with Sukz and Goal. It would also be great to see Slaf with his buddy Mesar, flanked by Roy on the right. Heineman would end up on the Dach line and Ylonen on the left of the Evans line. I will say though, I think 5M$ for Arber is insane and if he's on our 2nd pairing, we're screwed. Instead, I would have Harris there. I'm hopeful another prospect will step up to complete the bottom duo. It'll be interesting to see who else could crack the lineup. All and all, fun exercise!

It's amazing how folks on this site do not notice changes in the market. "Former first round picks are being given away for nothing? Yes. Someone will still pay a 1st for my overpaid underperforming winger!!"

Mid players from the worst team in the league aren't that valuable

That would be no, no and no.

COL isn’t trading a 1st for a bunch of crap much less 3 years of 1st rd picks.

Crap is a bit strong. Offensively challenged, perhaps?

Calgary gave up a 1st to move Monahan, do you really think someone will give up anything to get him?

Colorado is just a placeholder. Those could be any teams, one per year.

Edmundson is not crap, neither is Dvorak and neither is Monahan. If some turn into a sedond, or if a prospect is also included, it's not that important. I was more concerned with the roster than the exact picks we would get back.

No team is gonna take any of those trades. Doesn’t matter who your placeholder is. These are absolutely absurd valuations for Montreal.

Not even 2 months ago, Montreal was given a 1st round pick in exchange for taking Monahan and his contract. And now you think he’s a positive value asset? Get real

Edmundson is fine defensive depth, but not worth a 1st.

Dvorak is an overpaid 3rd liner. Just because Bergevin panicked and gave up a 1st for him doesn’t mean another GM would.

Calling them crap was a bit excessive but no way is MTL getting a 1st for Dvorak and his contract, MTL got a 1st for taking Monahan they aren’t getting another. Edmundsen is tricky because he has another year on his contract but teams do overpay for dmen at the deadline.

They could easily get a first for Dvorak in his final year, especially if they retain $1M.

Monahan will fetch a first if he scores at a 55 point pace and teams want experience scoring depth for a playoff run. He would be one of the top 2-3 guys available.

Edmundson will probably get a Chiarot-type return, both a 1st and a prospect, but I left out the prospect.

If Monahan can play well he could fetch a first at the deadline
