Vancouver says no. No need, no cap space.

Why would Vancouver do this though? No only do we not have cap space, we also do not need Kerfoot right now. If we really want him, we will just wait until July to get him for free. No point in wasting a second round pick for a guy who would be our FOURTH best center

There are 30 other teams to send Kerfoot to. Stop sending him to a team where he’d play 4th line.

Exactly. If they want to do a cap dump, they need to add.

You mean when the Canucks paid a 2nd for a 8th defensemen? Canucks have no leverage

Canucks would have all the leverage in a Kerfoot trade. They don’t need him and don’t have space for him. If Toronto wanted the Canucks to take on Kerfoot, it would cost Toronto assets.

Also, the Canucks paid a 2nd to dump Dickinson AND acquire Stillman. You’re misrepresenting the trade

Isn't it kinda dumb to preface a Kerfoot trade on Knies signing? Knies will be signing after the TDL, but will get his 9 games in order to get one year of ELC gone. That's assuming Knies signs next March. But isn't even crazier to think Knies will be NHL good next March/April and for the playoffs.

here is my prediction

Kerfoot wont go individually but be part of a package for Patrick Kane.

As if you do the math if its a 3-way trade Toronto can sign Knies and get Kane at 2.65mill

Nope, wrong. Canucks gave up a 2nd for an 8th defensemen, doesn't look good under my eyes. Canucks would be more than happy to give up a 2nd for Kerfoot

It was a dumb trade, but you do get the idea. If we take your cap dump Kerrfoot we want a second rounder.

Canucks paid a second to dump salary. Are you slow?

Jason Dickinson isn't a cap dump in anyones eyes, the Canucks GM just overpaid for Stillman

Yes he is a cap dump... You're either trolling, or have no clue what you are talking about... Dickinson was awful last year and is on a bad contract. The Canucks traded him to gain more cap space. Do you know what a cap dump even is?

You clearly don't understand what cap dumping is or your trolling so lets assume its not the former. (Consider this your warning if its the latter)

https://www.secondcityhockey.com/2022/10/8/23393849/chicago-blackhawks-2022-nhl-preseason-news-trades-jason-dickson-second-round-pick-canucks

"On paper, these two players seem close to even. So, why the second-round pick? Because Dickinson is under contract for $2,650,000 for two more seasons while Stillman is under contract for two more seasons at $1,350,000. This trade frees up $1.3 million in cap space for the Canucks, and the cost of doing so is a second-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft."
