I enjoy a bold deal... but I don't think that gets it done for the Leafs... You can have Nylander for that package, minus the picks maybe?

Marner can’t handle Toronto and couldn’t handle Montreal either

No you absolutely can't have Nylander for this package. Two bad contracts and a nothing prospect hurt the value and 2 firsts for Nylander while taking on 2 bad contracts is not enough. Caufield would have to be the starting point for Marner and the habs would add

You may be right about that. I think it's not so much TO but he just can't handle when things don't go his way.

it would be a really bad idea for the Oilers to trade a player at a position of weakness for a player at a position of strength

I noticed that Jordan Harris led the 6 defensemen in Time On Ice last game. He's quite the find. THAT is who Toronto should be asking for as part of any Marner trade, but if your team is smart, they won't let him go any more than they would let Caufield or Suzuki go.

Yeah sorry but we aren’t trading Max Comtois for Joel Edmundson

Add your 2023 1st to Edmundson and you can have Comtois. Otherwise stop asking, Ducks fans are getting rather pissed at Habs fans offering scarps for Comtois.

Comtois is young, physical, and cost controlled, which is everything the Ducks want and need. The only way to pry him from our grasp is to give us an equivalent version coming back the other way, or to significantly overpay for him to the point we just can't say no.

this is correct.

If the oilers move barrie there needs to be a RD coming back somewhere first. or the oilers have a massive hole.

Montreal is not trading the Cats 1st, right now it sits 15th overall. Imagine if it stays there or gets higher and they traded it for Marner

Picks for the Leafs are pretty useless, they're competing right now. It would take a disgusting overpay that has to include one of your top 6. Starting with at least one of Suzuki, Caulfield, or Slaf, and then adding.

There's 3 years of 100 to 110 points/season to make up for right now. Odds are it'll look like an overpay.
