Leafs trade doesn't make much sense for the Hawks. You are trading guys for futures but with the Leafs you trade a player and a higher pick for a lower pick and a player who's expiring this season.

Thats a bit much for Kane. He should get a better return than Giroux but not that much better

Not sure if Formenton is in the middle of that Hockey Canada investigation- but looks like the walls are about to close in on whoever was involved. And please correct me if I'm wrong (I really hope he had nothing to do with that situation) - but I haven't seen any absolute denials from him- as others on that team have offered. So without more info here, Formenton has almost no value. And with the accusations against CHI regarding the "culture" which was tolerated there just a few years back...this is the last type of situation they should be looking to get involved in.
