-So Arizona retains 3x$2.3M on Chych, and also burns their last retention slot on Troy Stecher, and also takes back 2x$4.5M of Tyson Barrie, all so you can send them a 1st/2nd/6th, a slightly younger & less accomplished LHD in Broberg (Chych already had 3 years in the league and 171 GP under his belt by his age-21 season; Broberg has 23 total so far), and a forward who has some upside. I just don't think there's enough here to get Chych alone, much less ask them to tie up a 2nd retention slot for the next 3 years (they've already got OEL's retention for however many more years).
-Troy Terry had 37 goals last year and has 23 pts in 22 GP this year. Kailer Yamamoto has 40 goals for his entire career and has 3 points in 13 GP this year. And you have Anaheim retaining, even? Without adding a single thing? This is an incredibly easy pass for the Ducks.
-What's the point of this deal? Neither dude has really lived up to his draft stock, so I can get it as a challenge/change of scenery trade - except Tippett's already changed his scenery once. Retaining down on Pool Party makes this cap neutral, which is a plus for Philly, but also doesn't make a ton of sense when you had to ask for so much retention in the other deals. Why not just let Philly figure out the cap if they want to make this deal?
-Shore for Khaira is fine, I guess, but why would Chicago do this? They're both pending UFAs, and Chicago's in the position of wanting to cash those in for futures. If Shore was younger, or had RFA rights, or had something other than a single point in 16 GP, I think Chicago would think about it, but as it stands I don't see a big reason for them to give up a player who's playing better this year for a guy who's playing worse without any sweetener being added.
