Selling the future for a 1 year run when you have the two best players in the league for 2-3 more years makes no sense at all.

Meh, I don’t really see Columbus making that move, but maybe since it seems like an overpayment, but I’d rather not have to take on another offensive defenseman.

I would love the "CBJ picked 3rd overall, but ended up with the 2nd and 4th overall players" narrative.

I'd take that for CBJ. Broberg's stock may be down, but we are essentially getting a 1st, two good prospects, and Pool-party and Barrie. Keep him or flip him, whatever. Maybe add Bean going to EDM.

As I read it, the overpayment is because we're taking on Another Offensive Defenseman. That to me is sufficient bribery.
