Kuzmenko would be a great add to their top 6. Robertson can marinate a bit more.

I agree with @Rooney, that should be interesting to the Jets.

Agreed...that's a solid deadline deal for the Leafs.

Pens decline. They don’t need a defenseman. They aren’t going to pay a 2nd for a 6/7 defensemen when they already have a bunch of their own that make around the same

Unless Kuzmenko 100% won't resign or the offer is crazy good. (ie. 1st + a great prospect) I don't think we should trade him. Yes he's a UFA but also have to think about the optics of trading a recently signed European FA might hurt us in the long run rather find a way to deal Miller and resign Kuz vs trading away. Kuz.

They shouldn’t. Boeser is a 3rd line forward making almost 7 mill per

I'm not sure what the cap is exactly. I see CF says deadline space is 6.6m. I'm not sure how that fluctuates or what might need to be done to get it over the finish line.

I get it! But his agent is already gearing up for FA. He's tweeting out $ bag signs and on the radio talking about no rush to sign until closer to the end of the season (after the TDL). Those definitely indicate they want more money if any early conversations of extension with Van have been had or saying to the FO, 'make sure the offer is high'. I get the agent has a job to do though and security for the player is important as well and the FO will certainly communicate that.

Ultimately if Petey is telling the FO to keep him, that probably has to get done especially if Bo is moved and this becomes Petey's team to lead.

Aha you mean TDL? Hoppfull they are good enough to even bother to do this. Horvat with Panarin would be sicken, potentially smile

No insurance on Letang? I'd think there would be some folks who consider Schenn better than Rutta and Ruhwedel and brings a physical element. Plus his experience and ability to fit into the organization's focus immediately is a big positive.

What's really patient to watch are all these d-trades that the Pens don't need and overpaying no less.

Pens have tons of defensive depth. This is exactly why we got Petry and Rutta. We're fine.

Fair enough. Contending teams buy. Doesn't have to be the Pens though for Schenn.

Would be tough to give up Chaz, but I think that would be a reasonable trade for the Jets.

Schenn isn’t exactly a replacement for Letang. And as to folks who think Schenn is better than Rutta and Ruhwedel, those folks are either high, drunk, Schenn’s family, or Homer Canucks fans

It’s funny cause how many trades had one of Marino or Pettersson in trades for one of their top forwards but now suddenly we need a 6/7 D to replace Letang lol

Which is why I'm glad none of the fans on here are GMs. Being a fan of a team doesn't make you an expert at understanding hockey.
