First is going the wrong way in the Habs deal sorry. CC is already on pace for 50 goals and almost 80 points Lafreniere is not at that level yet and you are projecting him to hit 60 next year to upgrade the 4th to a 1st. This is an easy pass for the Habs.

A young player who's tearing it up and on pace for 46 goals for two struggling young players? And a 1st on top?

Hawks decline. The luster has worn off Kratsov as a prospect. He's a reclamation project at this point. This deal requires a better young F prospect (Othmann, Cuylle, or similar)

We don’t need more defense and no chance we’re retaining a million for 5 years. Hard pass

We're aiming for a 1st from Mon 50% as a club so for the sake of this point we'll put his value there.

Laf should get a Dach like return, basically hold that value of a 1st and a 3rd.

Farrell was a 4th round pick but after some development is looking to have a ceiling somewhere in the Middle 6 Winger category. Could probably return a 2nd a few years away or a sooner 3rd to an interested club. I really like Farrell as a prospect and think he could definitely find a full-time spot in MTL with his development projection.

Blais is of no interest to me, so he doesn't bring any value here imo. That means you're basically sending a Dach like return + an additional 1st. Now I don't think NYR would accept your offer, but I also don't think MTL should make the offer to begin with.

Just seems like a steep price to pay when it's not going to be the one trade/move needed to be made to fix this roster. I know we got the CGY 1st and Mon for free so in theory we're only really giving up Farrell for Laf here, but I feel we could manage these assets a little better.

Thanks for sharing your take, very well developed

Btw Blais was to fit Monahan under the cap, as he has an expiring contract

If you were to make an offer for Lafrenière, what would it be? Monahan (1st) plus Farrell (3rd)?

Due to the conditions, I wouldn't offer the CGY 1st just because I want to see how that one plays out, but I'd send the '24 1st & 3rd + maybe another smaller piece for making them wait a year for their picks? Maybe make it top 10 protected since the Dach first was 13th overall so a possible 11th overall seems fitting. I doubt they accept but that would be my offer:

'24 1st top 10 protected, '24 3rd, & Ylonen maybe? He could rotate through their bottom 6 to maintain F depth and the 3rd could be in '23, doesn't really matter to me.

FLO or MTL 2023 1st, if in the 11-16 range, would be a decent offer for Lafreniere. NYR will need cap space next summer to sign Patrick Kane, probably can't afford Laffy.

I really don't want to move our '23 1sts with how deep this draft will be.

Same but i would do it for Lafreniere hoping it turns as good as it did with Dach.

He still have 40+ goals potential if partnered with good players. He's playing mostly 3rd line in NY since he was drafted.

Him and Slafkovsky on a line with Dubois as a center would be terrific. Big scoring physical line.

I think I'll still stick with my '24 1st ++ offer just to keep the '23 1sts, they could both turn out better than Laf.

That would be an interesting line for sure.
