I am a big Horvat fan. But holy mother of god, this can't be a real proposal. Zero percent change the Leafs pay all of that for a rental.

?? ZERO teams in the league would even come close to beating that Horvat offer. 1st + High end Prospect + 3rd + Cap would be more than fair. The Leafs offer is WAYYYY more than that.

liljegren is more valuable to the leafs than horvat so that allready ruins the trade

It's a 1st, a 2nd, a good RHD prospect in Niemela, a mid-tier prospect in Robertson, *AND* an established young roster player in Liljegren, and you think someone is going to top that? 2 prospects, a a young roster player, a 1st and a 2nd for is more than the Eichel deal, and he came with term!

A rare, crazy overpay on both trades.

I get homer-ism but holy cow this is brutal.

Any team buying high (read: insanely, way over-hyped, high), is going to regret the over-pay needed. Plus, it looks like the Canucks are going to clear some cap to re-sign him.

Both Niemela and Robertson are so over hyped it isn't funny, Liljegren is about the best piece in the whole deal, Plus a late and 2nd round pick. Yeah it can easily be beaten.
