Boy, I really don't know how to feel about this one . . . we certainly aren't going to be competing for a playoff slot in 2023-2024 and probably not competing for a playoff run in 2024-2025 . . .

Don't see Anaheim trading Terry anytime soon, And down the road he's probably going to cost a pretty penny.

That’s why I’d like to see them cash in on Terry now. He’s worth a couple 1sts and some high end prospects.

I’m firm on we don’t trade him. He is the foundation for Pat here

The foundation is:

Mason, Trevor, Jaime plus whoever is drafted this summer.

I place him just behind those players. I think Troy is peaking right now and you sell high.

It is certainly an option to sell high on him. If it's a TDL deal they probably need to be high on the prospect(s) that is coming in. Otherwise, I would imagine they wait until draft day, so at least they get one player that they would be excited about. They shouldn't just trade him for the sake of trying to cash in on his value.

troy Terry would look good on Bedards wing!
but with this seasons collapse they might opt to make this trade. they have some good young pieces but stacking the team with young talent as they draft bedard might be nice

That ANA trade just destroys BOS future. Definitely not worth it imo even if they win the cup this year.

in regards to Nieto I’m not sure his value but i do know he is having a Strong year! on pace for career highs point and goal wise, while also still being a solid PK guy and defensive stalwart at near leauge min salary.
but players like him don’t often get more than a 4th as a pure rental. would you guys try and resign him in the offseason or do you think sharks would have a chance to get him back?

Okay so you’re one of those guys that gets defensive and lashes out when someone does anything but say, “this is perfect and great and wonderful!” So very useful.

2 of Bostons best players are likely to retire this year or next. they should be in a win now mode and go all in… but i agree with you that focusing on the future now should be a priority.
but Boston has a good chance at winning it all this year and it might we worth it to go all in even at the expense of the future.
i agree with you and the creator of this post. this one is hard!

Ducks would be dumb to trade Terry

He’s also gonna get a big pay day and bruins probably won’t be able to pay pasta, doesn’t make sense for either team

More than likely Anaheim not doing it. It would be beyond idiotic for Boston to pass on Troy Terry.

Neither team does it honestly. But Boston is not giving up that kind of package for a guy that won’t have the $ to sign.

Nieto automatically increases your PK standings. Easily one of the best PKers in the league. He'll cost a bit more than a 4th, though.
