Paying more for a scrub like Klingberg than O'Reilly? Seriously?

There's a different market for Centers than there is for RHD this season.

Canucks pass easily. A 4th line C, 2nd two drafts from now, and a 3rd three drafts from now isn’t close to enough, especially with 4 years of retention

you want half retention and your still throwing Appleton into the deal who is dead weight? so a 2nd and a former for for ROR at 3 mill? F Stastny went for a 1st, 3rd and 4th and he was no where near ROR.

Not my ACGM bro..... Read the author next time.

I'm pointing out that there a multiple big name center rentals available this year, and the same can't be said for RHD.

Are you really going to cite a trade from 4 years ago, as if that's going to be an indicator on return this season? The league is not in the same place now as it was then.

I think there is a fit for Schmidt on CBJ’s roster, particularly if Vlad goes. He could be a great 2LD until Mateychuk is ready.

Issue is that contract. Not a fan of near $6M on him for two years. There would either need to be some retention, or WIN would need to take some money back. Could give WIN Bean (whose season is LTIR over) and a 5th.

Not your ACGM? You repost it and don't want any criticism?
In your own wisdom, if RHD are less common than C's, how uncommon are Selke, Conn Smythe, and cup winners?
Today I learned that 4 years is forever ago but today with absolutely no metrics to go off of are the standard

My point is that the markets are fluid year to year, there's only so many teams in a playoff spot looking to add a top 6 center, and there's multiple options to choose from, even when you filter by Stanley cup champion+selkie+con Smythe.

Big name rental centers available this year from teams who are going to miss, or look like they may miss the post season include Toews, ROR, Horvat and Monahan, others that are likely available include Domi, Barbashev, Acciari, Eller, and Bjugstad.

Big name RHD that WILL be avaliable include Klingberg, and that's it. Everyone else is a maybe.

Maybe Dumba will be available, Severson is unlikely, maybe Harmonic, it's a short list, and many of them are question marks.

Since the NHL trade market works on the basic rules of supply and demand, yeah, centers are probably not going to bring great returns this year, because there is a lot of supply. The same can't be said for RHD, as there's only one who is KNOWN to be available.

How sold is Winnipeg on Brendan Dillon? Would they have interest in bringing in Gavrikov for a playoff push?
