Edmonton doesn't have the cap space for Timo Meier next season, So basically he's a rental only.

And you don't give up Broberg for a pending UFA in Gavrikov.

Way too much for the Oilers to give up....and they still might miss the playoffs.

I don’t think the oil have the capacity (picks, prospects, and cap space) to target both Gavrikov & Meier. Have to prioritize and from outside the d corps could use a serious upgrade.

CBJ pass. A declining former first round prospect doesn’t top a 1st.

These kinds of players are so unappealing for the Jackets with how many young players they have. Feels like everyone that hasn't panned out from the 2017-2019 drafts are getting thrown about like they still have significant value, but they just don't. If you're not playing significant NHL time in your d+4 season with how young the league is now you're really really behind in your development.

Oh you can keep Broberg...he's way behind on his development and isn't even NHL ready in any capacity... gavrikov will cost you a 1st.

Would much rather trust jarmo to draft someone better than broberg with a late first plus

JP is a bust and SJ would take him as a part of a cap dump. only negative value

I think that's an unfair generalization. I think we're going to see some interesting break out performances from guys who got slowed down by COVID.

All that being said their trade values are still forked.

I think I read this a bit quickly the 1st time, after a second read, I doubt you disagree with what I had to say in my first response, it's just a fact that those players are all in a tough spot, slowed down by COVID, younger guys primed to leap frog them.

That's a bit harsh... KHL and NCAA players do take their time and are (sometimes) very talented when they hit the NHL running but ya, Bro isn't worth a 1st rn

and Foegele will cost a (late) 2nd to dump due to the extra year he went to the Kenny Holland School of Economics

I suppose I'm more talking about 1st rounders. Later picks taking time to develop is perfectly normal, but when a 1st rounder still isn't playing much 4-6 years after they were drafted and they're not performing well in the AHL then they're really not where they're supposed to be in terms of development.
