Damn that was quick lol. You can replace Morrow with their 1st round pick, but considering this is maybe the biggest sellers market we’ve ever seen, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some wacky things happen. There will be a ton of teams bidding for Monahan. Saying Carolina won’t trade Morrow is most likely true though.

You’d actually be surprised if the Philadelphia Flyers trade assets for Anderson? You’re kidding right? This is the Philadelphia Flyers we’re talking about, let me remind you lmao.

saying this will be a buyers market means the buyers will have all the leverage... i think you meant vice versa

Oh, the Canes tell you to shove this so far up where the sun don't shine. If Montreal wants Morrow, it's likely going to be a package for Caufield. Not someone that's going to be a 4C.

Monahan isn’t the caliber of player to get a first. If there is a team that doesn’t do wacky things at the deadline, its the canes. We don’t move firsts for rentals either. 3rd is the highest since Waddell and co have taken over.

Won’t matter if Morrow is replaced with a first, it still won’t happen. Canes don’t move first rounders for rentals, and especially ones with injury histories like Monahan.

Don't give Chuck Fletcher any ideas. A trade for Anderson feels right on brand for him.

The first is a good start for Dubois, the rest needs to be replaced with quality pieces that would hold value to Winnipeg.

Strudel as an LD and Dvorak as a highly overpaid 4C in Winnipeg both have less than no value to the Jets.

It will take take first and quality prospects or players to get Montreal into the discussion.

Zero chance PLD signs a lowball long term offer.

Nah Dubois isn’t worth that much. He chooses where he goes long term.

I guess they won’t get a good rental this year then.. and they’ll lose in the first or second round like usual.

Well there's no reason Winnipeg will have to accept less than he gets as a rental at the following TDL, so this offer is beaten quite easily. A young 1C will have no shortage of suitors.

let's get Sean Monahan back on the ice before we start throwing him in deals for top prospects or 2023 1sts. right now he hasn't played in a month, i can't really see teams beating down the door to add a guy with his injury history that's hurt again.

It seems that you have forgotten about Patches. He is being treated like the Canes own rental this year, and he has already stated that he would like to remain with Carolina for the foreseeable future. Besides, even if the Canes were in the market for rentals, they wouldn’t be able to afford most of the ones they would likely have as a target.

You can’t compare your standard cookie cutter methods that other teams use to the rather unorthodox approach that the Canes use. They value their own picks and prospects more than they value rentals. They have historically not given up what other teams would have for rentals, with the biggest piece they have given up being a 2nd rounder back in 2006 as part of the package for Mark Recchi.

Have the Canes ever walked into the deadline with such a glaring hole like the one they have at 2c this year?

Are you thinking clearly? You think Winnipeg gets a better deal than this at the deadline? This is a 1st round pick (likely around 10th overall) in one of the best drafts we’ve ever seen, a middle 6 C and a B prospect. They will not get a better deal than that for a rental.

Caufield is about to score 50 goals. Don’t mention a 2nd round prospect in the same breath please.

Morrow is breaking Cale Makar's UMass records... and that 2nd round pick? Was a consensus 1st rounder that couldn't play in his draft year due to the pandemic so he fell. Do some research please
