If I were Billy Guerin and I had to trade Dumba to the Sens or the Oilers

Either way, Ottawa would not be interested in Dumba unless we signed him to a bargain in free agency.

So, I have a feeling Darren Dreger is a bit out to lunch.

Like he was when he thought we were dropping from #7 to #16 in the draft last Summer just to dump Matt Murray.

The Oilers blue line is already a debacle, swapping Ceci for another liability like Dumba would make their issues even worse.

Dreger has lost some respect as a "hockey insider" suggesting Dumba for Zub. Nooooooooo way Ottawa entertains that, regardless of contract. Saying he is out to lunch was being polite.

I am not a Sens fan, but that is such a bad suggestion I would say it came from Kyperos.

Next up from Darren: Kaprisov for Josh Anderson🤣🤣🤣🤣

He did not suggest Dumba for Zub.

He only suggested that we reached out to Minnesota about Dumba.

And that Minnesota would need an adequate replacement for Dumba in the event they traded him.

That changes things. I was concerned think he had lost his mind lol.

But Dumba simply isn't the RD the Sens need imo. He is a name. Not sure he brings what is needed to pair well with Sanderson. He needs a Methot 2.0, not a 2 way defender.

Sanderson is Ryan Suter 2.0, in style if not ability. He has a strong two-way game himself that almost exactly mirrors Suter during his prime. I really wanted Sanderson that year if we had been in a position to draft him and were looking to pick up a Defenseman.

Dumba always did well whenever he was paired with Suter. Although that was before Dumba improved defensively. Given that, I'm pretty sure Dumba would pair quite well with Sanderson.

I highly doubt we'd want a defenseman back for Dumba. We'd want a either a top-six foward or potential top-six talent for him sans a 1st round pick.

The Wild would likely just move Addison up to the 2nd pairing with Brodin for the remainder of the year. As we likely have Faber joining at the end of the college season for a Playoff push as well as next year.

why would the Sens trade Zub, a guy they just signed, and fits their needs better, to replace him with a guy who'd need a new contract and does not fit their needs as well

If Dumba is out them Brodin/Goli becomes the 1st pair in MN, just like Goli/Dumba was the 1st pair when Brodin was out.

If the PP doesn't start working again, Addison will be in the pressbox and it'll be a Merrill/Goli 3rd pair. Addison is nowhere near capable enough to have more than the sheltered 12 mins a night he's getting of non-PP ToI.

Where in this ACGM did I suggest the Sens would trade Zub?

You seem to be barking up the wrong tree.

But Kaprisov has how many more points? Last.time I checked, goals win hockey games.
