No one's taking Goodrow for a 5th lol.

5 years of 3,641,667 is going to cost a BOATLOAD to move.

If he wants to play for a rebuilding team ya. Kadri and Zibby were both projected to be 9+

    Wrong, he's a big swiss army knife worth a 2nd & 5th. You're talking about Garland @ 4x5m...

    If that's the case, then it's going to take more than a 1st round + Laf & 3rd for a non-rental

Sabres forward group is going to be even more crowded next year. Any depth forward could be picked up in free agency on a 2 way at league min. The Sabres don't exist to alleviate your cap problems

He’s a rental. Unless there’s a sign and trade which would only be the 2nd in nhl history. Doubt it

I don’t think Goodrow would waive
And it’s also gonna cost *at least* two 2nds to move him,
    maybe even a 1st
That’s a decent amount of Salary Cap to take on for 4years

As much as I like this roster, I think this is too tight for the cap. If there are any cap games they can play, like maybe restructuring Panarin, then I'm all in - I'm OK with Laffy for Meier, but NOT Kane. Otherwise, they need a player < $6M to make it work I think - maybe someone like Buchnevich if Blues are sellers? Priority in 2024-5 will be to move Trouba and sign Schneider and Kakko to long term deals. I think there are plenty of GOOD teams who would covet Goodrow at the deadline - Buffalo, Minnesota, Nashville, Winnipeg, Seattle and LAK - I don't think the NYR will need to sweeten the deal and could even get a 5-7th, knowing Drury. I just don't see Meier happening, but it would be fun.
