I think they both accept. I know MTL doesn;t want to retain forever, but I remain convinced Anderson is not a top 6 forward, and TOR is worse off in that exchange. And VAN would bite your hand off for that Schenn offer

Anderson would be a good top 6 player if he was on a good team. Montreal brings everyone's production down. Vancouver gets a young defenseman for a pending ufa

TOR makes lateral moves now (at best), and gets worse in the future... makes sense...

I don't think the Habs can feasibly retain that long on Anderson, The offer might be great but the length of the retention is too long. I think the Habs would rather take back a bad contract and/or add a little than retaining for that long.

Both of those moves improve them right now

Right type of players, don't see Schenn fetching anything close to that. I think Niemela is the guy to move for Toronto to fetch at top 6 forward. Lilijgren has been their most consistent d-man, so that would be a no-go.

Anderson may be an upgrade over Kerfoot -- but different roles.
Schenn is not an upgrade over Liljegren. He hits, and is bigger. But can't skate at a top 4 level.

To give up your top D prospect, 1st, 2nd to make these "upgrades" is laughable.

Yikes, anderson is a 30 point player who couldnt pass an open book test on defence and schenn isnt even 1/3 as good as liljegren.
Im half convinced this is a troll post

Trade 1: Anderson is a 3rd liner, not a superstar. If the Leafs made that offer, it would be for Horvat/O'Rielly/Tarasenko, not for a 3rd liner

Trade 2: That package would be for Chychrun, not for a worse version of Lilly (whom we are getting rid of in this scenario)

The funniest thing is: Anderson isn't an upgrade over Jarnkrok

Anderson's best season was 47 pts in 2018-2019, in the 3 yrs after that he had 4pts in 26 games, 24 in 52, and 32 in 69 games, hes also a -52 over those seasons. He has just 17 pts in 46 games this year, hes not fast, doesn;t fight. I remain unconvinced hes a difference maker and I think you'd find nylander having to carry the puck and wait 20 seconds for tavares and anderson to catch up with him.

And VAN gladly takes liljegren and a 2nd for schenn.

But with the leafs losing Amirov to cancer and robertson tanking for a second season, trading a 1st, a 2nd, liljegren and niemala is probably a bad move, especially given the return above.

Fine, let me correct, for the position Anderson would play on that Tavares/Marner line, Jarnkrok would be a better fit... better?

Anderson has intangibles at least-- toughness, size, goal scoring. I still don't consider the trade in the slightest.

Liljegren has been the best defender on Toronto's right side - I'd say he's untouchable at this point.

No interest in Anderson and I would suspect the feeling may be mutual; he has a NTC and Toronto could be on it. Not to mention that 5 years of retention is a bit asinine.

Anderson not fast LMFAO !!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA

Quick description of Josh Anderson :

Good : Skating, shot, hit, big body, can score goals, plays with heart

Bad : Zero hockey IQ, can't make a pass on the tape, can't play defense, injured prone

Unique player lmao
