Our TDL

Created by: Bdawwwgy1
Team: 2022-23 Columbus Blue Jackets
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 30, 2023
Published: Jan. 30, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
CBJ
  1. Walker, Sean
  2. 2023 1st round pick (LAK)
  3. 2024 3rd round pick (LAK)
LAK
  1. Gavrikov, Vladislav ($1,400,000 retained)
Additional Details:
I say this as a cbj fan who doesn’t love Gavrikov, but he’s viewed in a much better light than Walker. LAK opens room on that RHD side for Brandt and get the dman they think is better for a first and third. Cbj retaining also opens up some room for LAK to make another move
2.
CBJ
  1. Smith, Craig
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (BOS)
  3. 2024 5th round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
A week ago I would’ve thought Nyquist could go for a 2nd and 3rd, but after getting hurt I think his value depreciates for sure. He’s a realllllly sturdy and solid winger though
BOS
  1. Nyquist, Gustav ($2,750,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Only if Nyquist returns before the TDL
3.
CBJ
  1. 2023 4th round pick (DAL)
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (DAL)
DAL
  1. Robinson, Eric
Additional Details:
Buying low on Robinson would be a savvy move IMO. he’s struggled some this year but before this year he’s a super speedy, defensive bottom six winger who always gives his all and is good for ~30 points a year. Imo he instantly upgrades almost any teams bottom 6, and is signed another year
4.
CBJ
  1. 2023 4th round pick (NJD)
Additional Details:
Team hardly matters, but insurance for goalie injury. Korpi has been solid and has a great playoff track record
5.
CBJ
  1. Zadina, Filip
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (DET)
DET
  1. Boqvist, Adam
  2. Foudy, Liam

Kings counter-offer: 2024 second, 2023 third, Sean Walker for Gavrikov with 50% retention.

Cbj will probably get a first for Gavrikov. I don’t think any gm should do that, but it should happen.

Maybe cbj adds like a fifth or something. But I do think Walker + first + for Gavy is something that could happen

Could see BOS consider that, obviously depending on his injury.

How did we go from "Columbus will probably get a first for Gavrikov" to "Walker plus a first"?!? That's Ferrari acceleration.

The whole reason I dropped the first to a second is precisely because you're playing Walker at RD in your top 4.

I'd like to see Gus in Boston winning a cup.

The Jackets would probably be fine with a 1st and 3rd with no additional return.

I am guesing that the reason for adding Walker was based on the assumption is that the Kings would need to shed cap in the trade and that Walker sems to be the most expendable player for the Kings. I don't think the Jackets really have any need for Walker and the OP is just slotting him in the top 4 RD since we would need to slot him somewhere.
We actually have to many RD and probably need to trade at least one already.

Eww. I'd like Boston to not win until Marchand is gone.

I’d like that Detroit deal to happen. I think Zadina is a good player and playing with some genuine playmakers like Columbus has would get his career going in the right direction.

Yeah, that worked out really well for Laine.

Joking aside, Zadina will be poor fit in Columbus. I think Arizona or Anaheim or SJ would be better. No pressure, limited support, nobody pushing to take his spot. Zadina looked good when the roster was depleted in his sophomore season...elite future good. I just don't get it.

Walker isn’t a top 4 dman, but he would slot there for us. I don’t think your management would shed a tear if he goes and they’re probably actively looking to move him with nothing retained.

I like Robinson but how does someone who had a career high of 27 points last season get labeled a guy good for 30 points a year? His hands of stone are not going to magically get better if he played for a better team. Personally I think if Jarmo can get a 3rd rounder for him he should take it. There's a very limited market for guys making $1.6m a year that are fast but don't provide much else.
