Trades
1.
VAN
  1. Armia, Joel
  2. Barron, Justin
Additional Details:
Seems like Canucks are anxious to call former 1st rounders like Beauvilier 1st round value. According to Alvin, they got 3 1st round picks yesterday. Here's another former 1st. Take advantage of this incompetent management team
2.
MTL
  1. Blueger, Teddy
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (PIT)
PIT
  1. Monahan, Sean ($3,187,500 retained)
3.
MTL
  1. Heinola, Ville
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (WPG)
WPG
  1. Edmundson, Joel ($1,750,000 retained)
4.
MTL
  1. Boqvist, Jesper
  2. Casey, Seamus [Reserve List]
  3. 2023 1st round pick (NJD)
NJD
  1. Anderson, Josh
Additional Details:
Anderson on pace for another 20 goal season. Lebrun already stated that Hughes has refused a 1st for Anderson. It's going to take more for this type of player. Whomever loses out on Meier will circle to Anderson. A late 1st +young roster player+ok prospect is the demand. This is the low end on a return so don't bother with tired analytics argument and your feelings when reports have been out there for anyone to read.

Winnipeg has zero need for LHD and would not want Edmundson on the books next year.

All the other teams say no to the heavily lopsided in Montreal's favour deals as well.

Based on production, Josh Anderson would be a 4th liner on the Devils

A 1st + Good prospect for a 4th liner...

Now this is the trade for NJD! Why spend a 1st on Meier when Josh Anderson is available? JOSH...ANDERSON!

Anderson is on the top line with Suzuki and Harvey Pinard and producing as a power forward which is rare. Devils dont have anyone close to Anderson to slot in that role. You make him sound like Bastian which is ludicrous. Please find me one report of Bastian's interest around the league? I can find you dozens with legit insiders like Lebrun and Seravelli confirming the reports on Josh.
Oh right.. Bastian was exposed in expansion and then claimed off waivers by the same team!

I went to check Anderson's stats to see if he was indeed on pace for 20g and laughed out loud when I saw 14g 3a lmfao

What a bad hockey player.

Bastian at $825k > Anderson at $5.5m

Unless Montreal is offering their 1st along with retention, NJD asks Kent to stop begging.

You know that Josh Anderson would be the 2nd worst producing Devils forward among anyone who has played more than 35 games, right?

Ppl were calling Garland a cap dump yesterday. Justin Barron would be the best you could get for Garland as RHD top prospect.
Simply taking on more salary which doesnt seem to be an issue for Alvin if its a former 1st.

Dumping Anderson with half retention would cost a top 5 2023 1st?

those 19 points would have him on pace for 39 total points, keeping his career total 0.5ppg seasons as 1.

bad, overpaid hockey player lmao

It doesnt matter what is said here. Building your own narrative is fun, I guess. This is the same storyline as Chiarot last year. The same ppl that were wrong last year will be wrong again. I cant wait. It will be fun here for a day when it happens.

Josh Anderson: 17 points in 48 games
Nathan Bastian: 9 points in 26 games

Anderson isn't much better, especially at 5.5M and at the cost of Casey + 1st

You still have yet to explain why the Devils need to pay this much for Anderson when they can get Meier who is significantly better and won't cost that much more

I remember hearing the same about Gaudreau in free agency. Just sign Johnny Hockey, easy solution. Don't worry about any other team! You have to actually win the Meier sweepstakes. Playing the Devil's advocate at every level isn't an answer. Just like this lame argument of nitpicking Josh playmaking ability with 5 assists. Literally, everyone knows he's not a playmaker but continue focusing on that to build your own narrative when the pundits like Seravelli and Lebrun say otherwise. Its kinda pathetic.

He's not a playmaker. He's also not a goalscorer (T-95th for goals). He's just a pretty bad hockey player, and the Devils, with a smart analytics team who have a large say in decisions, will not be paying a price even remotely this large for a 4th liner.
