I think JT Miller for Jesperi Kotkaniemi would be a good 1-for-1 trade if Vancouver retains enough to make the cap hits equivalent ($1.59M). Carolina gets the older guy who should be able to contribute more in the short-term, while Vancouver gets some cap relief and a younger guy that could help with the rebuild. Both players would have a $6.41M cap hit.

I doubt nucks are retaining for 9 years and if retention is just for this year it’s a non starter. Still don’t think canes want to be on the hook for the duration of miller deal so it’s a moot point.

Personally, I think that any GM who would commit significant assets to acquiring Demko on the basis of the 8 games left before the deadline -- assuming he even comes off the IR list after Saturday's game -- is committing hockey malpractice. And that assumes that Demko would prove himself healthy -- never mind competent -- in those 8 games.

Take out Voit and TO counters with Schenn for a 4th. He would be their #5 RD
