As indicated above, no team that would trade for one year of Matthews can't afford his contract.
But your premise is wrong, about the first wrong exit, Matthew will decide where he wants to plays for the next seven years in 2024. ( I think it's LA). Doesn't really matter what the Leafs do this playoffs.
TDL February 2024, when Matthew's contract is easy to trade with retention, maybe the Leafs do trade Matthews/Nylander and Brodie.
Muzzin if he healthy stays a Leafs....he isn't waiving to a non playoff team. If on LTIR, he stays a Leaf, and doesn't affect the cap.
Kinda of a nonsensical thought that Nylander lacks grit. He stickhandles, carries the puck, and tries to make plays with possession in the offensive zone when defensive are trying to get the puck from him. I guess he shows no grit because he doesn't dump the puck in the corner and then needs to check the opponents to get the puck back.
